Had fun at the Renaissance Festival + Apologies · 6:18am Oct 16th, 2016
So, today (Or yesterday, I guess, since it's past midnight now) me and my family, along with some friends, went to the Renaissance Festival. I'd never gone go a Renaissance Festival before, so it was a great experience. I saw a lot of cool events, I bought a couple of things, and overall I had a great time.
Most enjoyable of all, though, were probably the costumes and cosplays. I was surprised to find that many cosplays had nothing to do with the Renaissance; a lot of steampunk designs were walking around, as were those of various anime, movies, games, and shows (though sadly, no pony-related ones). My favorite one by far, however, was a girl who was cosplaying as Serena from Pokémon. Though I'll admit I may be biased since I'm a big Amourshipper.
...Which brings me to my second point. I want all of my fans to know that I am so sorry. I know I've been severely neglecting my stories for a while, and for that I deeply apologize. The fact is that I haven't been able to find the inspiration to write anything recently. And then, when I left Fimfiction for a while to read some non-pony stories, I felt my old dream of writing an awesome Pokémon story return. And so I sat down and re-watched some old episodes. Then, I wrote some words. And then I wrote some more... and more... and before I knew it, I had a new story.
I called it An Unexpected Reunion.
The basic premise is that Ash ends up meeting with Serena at the end of his adventures in Johto, and so they end up reconnecting much sooner than in canon (and before Misty leaves!). In addition, rather than Harrison, Ash meets none other than Calem. And, most notably, Ash is the one who has a crush on Serena. As you may have guessed by what I just said, it's an Amourshipping story.
So... yeah. I've been having a lack of pony-related inspiration recently, and a recent surge of Pokémon-related inspiration. All in all, not good for a guy who wants to write more ponies.
...But I'm not giving up on my pony stories just yet. I'm going to keep trying to find the inspiration i need, and I'm certain that I'll finish them eventually. I hope!
It's okay.
