On "Fake It 'til You Make It"

Working on retail and tech support for five years now has giving me some background so this episode hit close for me. It is intimidating - much more than some would say. You will be pulling stupid stunts and saying weird stuff to satisfy or circle-around the customer. Personas do emerge specially when uniforms are involved, and if you're not careful they will take over even

    Curse my tongue...

I have a weird accent... or is it a pronunciation tick? If I read a word before I ever hear it I end up giving it my own bit-of-a-spin. I also tend to play with words and their sounds. English is my co-primary language. Sometimes those end up conspiring and I arrive at strange connections.

A few thoughts on The Movie.

Definitively, a very pretty movie - as long as you don't look at the ponies' eyes; Voicework is great - I really liked Emily Blunt's; and the music is what one would expect; . Yet it somehow doesn't even seem like "MLP:FiM" to me - similar, but not the real deal. Most of the characters felt bland and flat. The story was so-so. On The MLP Movie Trailer

The animation is something I need to get used to. The models looked okay in some of the stills when we got word of the team's switch from Adobe Flash to Toon Boom, but once in motion... I need to see the final product to adequately judge. Admittedly, it looks smooth AF and mostly agree with Dr. Wolf.

What are the chances that the Starlight's far-off village and her childhood village are the same place? The place was shown to have it's own traditions, and Starlight was certainly bonkers enough to have (re-mapped?) it at one point to fit her ideas and they're now recuperating them. The good judge stats at home, they say.

Someone was watching Aliens when making this episode. The cocoons/pupas, the layout of the hive is as if taken from the Kenner mini-comics, but what got me was scene where Chrysalis corners Starlight, specially, reminds me of the end when the Alien Queen is hunting Newt.

With Changelings being related to fairies, both their initial and final designs remind me of the fairy design in Del Toro's El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth).
