Well, It's That Time of Year Again...

One thing I always hated about March was how back-and-forth the weather was, and this year is no exception. It went from 30 degrees Fahrenheit to almost 70 in the span of a weekend. What does this usually mean for most people?

Fucked up immune systems, that's what.

    Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah / Kwanzaa... whatever you celebrate, I hope it's a good one. (To me, it's "Birthmas" because, something you guys probably don't know, I was born on Christmas Day, 1996. And yes, it sucks as much as you'd think. I'm now 20 years old - old enough to not be considered a teen but still too young to adult.)

Yes yes A THOUSAND TIMES YES!

You know, I don't usually get hyped for things. Correction: I don't get hyped for things. I learned my lesson after The Force Awakens.

But apparently not, because holy fucking shit TLOU 2 is coming out! :yay:

Update on the robbery/arson thing · 12:11am Oct 3rd, 2016

So, I just finished having a conversation with my mother about this situation, and I'm sad to say it's gotten worse. This is going to be a bit jumbled, but this case is just so weird and complicated that I can't help it. I'll try to keep it as clean and concise as possible, but there is only so much I can do.

Some relatively good news first: apparently, the woman whose car was found on the scene managed to stage a break-in at her own home. Her door was busted in, and she claims that whoever stole our stuff and torched the house brought the items to her house to hide them there, without her knowledge. She even had a friend of her's lie to help set up an alibi. I don't think the cops believe her (at least, I hope not) but at most, right now she can only be charged with receiving stolen property. So, what's the good news in that? Well, she had a lot of the big stuff just kinda sitting around her property: my grandfather's golf cart, a zero-turn lawn mower, and I think a few other things. Expensive stuff - the lawn mower alone is worth around $6,000. It's all been seized, and my mother had a friend of hers tell her that the police may have found a lot of the other stuff. The guns are still MIA, but the sheriff's deputy on the scene had a theory about what they did with them.

Speaking of that idiot, here's his theory: he thought that the thieves may have hidden out in the nearby forest with some of the stolen items, and may have dropped some stuff when they left. When my mother asked if he was going to go search for it immediately, he denied. His excuse was that he was 40 pounds overweight and he didn't want to get his polyester uniform scratched up. He said he would bring out a search dog and look the next day.

Because, you know, giving the criminals ample time to go back and get the rest of it is just a great fucking idea, right? God forbid the cop actually does his job. Can't risk ruining his uniform, right?

*sigh* Sorry about that. That just pissed me off so much.

Another thing about this guy: he, and any of the other deputies working the case - if any - have barely been questioning the neighbors. My mother went with him to a next door neighbor, and she asked more questions than he did, and got more answers. She's also been asking around the other neighbors as well, and getting a lot of leads. Thank God it's a tight-nit community around there. Everyone knows each other, and it seems the entire county is working to help us get through this. Meanwhile, the cops have been doing fuck-all as far as we know. There has been no communication from them ever since they seized the one woman's stolen goods. No updates, no official reports, nothing.

The incompetence of the county sheriff's department has gotten my entire family fed up with it; so much so that one of my grandfather's brothers is already seriously considering having the case escalated to the state police. The thing that pushed him that far? Get this... the police - when first responding to the reported fire, before we even knew it was a robbery/arson - found a guy sleeping in the car that was left there! He got a ride to the impound and caught a ride home. As far as we know, they still haven't fucking arrested him.

I'm sorry for ranting on here. I just need to get all of this out of my system before I start patrolling the county with a loaded rifle strapped to my back, looking for anything I recognize (which I can. It's legal to carry a rifle around in this state). I'm sorry for going on and on about this, I just need a way to vent, and repeatedly punching the wall gets too messy. Plus, you guys have been supportive so far. I thank you for that. Hopefully, the county police can get their shit together soon so this can all be done and over with. If not, well, let's hope the state police are a little more competent.
