Just Found Out... · 2:16am Sep 30th, 2016
I just found out that some dude reviewed one of my stories, The Problem With Genie Magic. This is actually the third story of mine he's reviewed, going all the way back to April 4th (he also reviewed The Alicorn Curse and Whatever Happened To Starswirl the Bearded?) He wasn't exactly impressed. Granted, he didn't bash the stories, and I've never said no to constructive criticism, but it kinda threw me for a loop that he singled out those three. Each of them has their own sense of humor, and he didn't seem to be a fan of any of them. And I find it odd that he picked out Whatever Happened to Starswirl? (My first story to be featured on EqD and, until very recently, had no dislikes at all), The Alicorn Curse (My only story to reach over 1,000 likes and my second story to be featured on EqD), and The Problem With Genie Magic (which was, at best, kinda meh), yet he didn't like any of them. His basic gripes boil down to my stories being too random and scattered. Which is fine, I guess, but I don't know how you're reviewing a story tagged as Random and not counting that as a pro rather than a con. I'm not upset, not especially. Just kind of confused, and I get annoyed at things/people I don't understand.
This blog doesn't really have a point. I just wanted to talk.
man, it's hard to say what "Random" is supposed to be. maybe his gripes aren't completely unfounded - random being more of a descriptor of the story's content than its progression - and he thought it was unfocused.
pointless blogs are important
