I'm noticing this blog is becoming much more diary/ramble than anything really coherent. Hope that doesn't make it too off putting.
First off, medical issue from my last post. I was basically told "We have to wait and see how things play out". Gee, thanks Doc. What amounted to 4 hours driving and about 36 hours of anxiety for 20 minutes of no resolution either way. But on the plus side, I managed to find my mental balance again via beer and youtube surfing. This song and image helped a lot for some reason:
You know, there could be a good story in that.
In Equestria's darkest hour, an unlikely hero arose. A Knight of Ghosts and Shadows. A King of Darkness. His army would shake the world
Yesterday's episode was a treat. Unicorn master race! But if any of you have read The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher you will know what I mean when I say that there are definite parallels between Starlight Glimmer and Molly Carpenter. Particularly early in the series.
Current work. It's the weekend so I spent yesterday working on the next chapter of Queen Chrysalis, Relationship Counselor. I wrote this nice interaction between Chrysalis and Granny Smith. Took me most of the day. Stepped back, looked at it and realized it was complete crap. Way too serious for the story and concept. Stepped back a bit further and realized that a certain white unicorn was repeatedly, gently nudging me to get back to serious work on her story and that was colouring my writing. I've never refused the request of a lady so the next couple of days will be heavy work on The Bridle Path. The next chapter or two will be hard to write as two primary characters are going to be approaching their nadirs.
Recommendations:
The Coronation. Between Lines does a masterful job of off-camera action and humour.
Sunset Isn't Your Color by Oroboro. A really sweet SunShy story with really good characterization.
In music:
A blast from my past
Henri Mancini was a damn genius.
Finally, a little Nightcore.
All the best to you and yours...
I am sure you were expecting this, but I told you so. Once a character gets in your head, you are done for until you are completely finished with their story.
4226948 You were right, you were right. I had just hoped that my natural parental multi-tasking skills would have come to the fore. I forgot that I'm hardwired to help ladies in distress.
