I've been struck with inspiration! this is some of my ideas I'd like to see in the next Elder Scrolls.
So game opens you escape your incarceration and during your tutorial phase you go along learning about your first three main Skill trees, Warrior, Thief, and Mage. with this they throw out the general Skill trees of Skyrim, like one handed, sneak, or conjuration. instead it's more like ESO's skill sets but still playing like Skyrim. So you run along the tutorial you find a sword but when you equip it you don't equip it directly to your character but instead to a load out that each skill tree has. now this is the interesting part, a Warrior uses a sword different than a Thief or to a Mage. Warrior with a sword uses the single click to do a basic attack and hold click to do a strong attack braking a block of enemies. a Thief is less interested in confrontation so single click will parry enemy attacks and a hold click will go to stab, so less damage but more opportunity to run away. a Mage isn't really good with sword but wouldn't shy away from it so single click is normal attack but hold would be a normal attack but channel magic like lightning making an temporary enchanted sword type attack using magicka instead of stamina. and depending on what your facing and how you'd want to deal with it you can switch between skill sets each having it's individual load out of weapons and special abilities (think things like dragon shouts). and as you progress throughout the game you'll learn more skill trees, like for a Night Blade, or a Battle Mage. the option to make your own Skill set based on what you've gained and learned from other skill trees would be good too.
