FanFic Thoughts #1
So my first Blog entry, nothing really special, with this series of Reviews i want to share my thoughts about my favorite Fanfics.
Starting with Silent Ponyville by SamRose
His first and shortest entry into his Silent Ponyville series, with only about 30.000 words it is a little bit too short for my taste. Nonetheless it was a great experience.
In his first story he targeted not the typical gore Grimdark instead he tried to establish the characters and the world of his Story. It all starts with the relatively easy plot that pinkie is having nightmares about all types of gruesome monsters. She asks Twilight for help, after a while they find a Mind Delve spell that should help Pinkie.
Instead this is the point where the real story begins. This is the point where i will stop because now i would need a big Spoiler shield. As i said earlier blood and gore are held at a minimum, so the story is rated with a Teen Tag.
However the great atmosphere of the world doesn´t suffer in the slightiest, it really sucked me into the story. You really feel with pinkie when you read long enough, if Pinkie Pie is your favorite character i don´t suggest reading this story.
And on top of all of that this is a crossover with Silent Hill so of course there are puzzles and riddles in this story. In my opinion they could be a little more difficult although Pinkie is really not a fan of riddles, but thats just a minor issue for the atmosphere. The only real problem i have with the first entry is the general pacing of the story at some points it could be faster or more event heavy. But it is his first story so it´s easily forgiven.

Final Rating: 30,5/50 Great first story
