First off, some house-keeping business: I've never been able to leave comments on my own blog entries in reply to others' comments (I'm not sure why), so I've had to leave replies as a "guest." But now that anonymous commenting has been turned off, I can't reply to anyone. Sorry about that--not intentionally ignoring folks, I promise.

Now, for the actual post: As some of y'all might know, I wrote and recorded a MLP fan song, which was a Rainbow Pie love song. If you're interested, you can check it out here: "When She Smiles". I'm pretty happy with how the composing went, less happy about the singing, but c'est la vie. I may attempt to rerecord it at some point.

But I digress. A few days ago, as I was driving home from work (which is when I do a lot of my thinking, for some reason), I started composing and singing a RariJack song in my head. And then I got home, picked up my guitar, and started writing the song in earnest. And then a few days later, I found myself singing a bit of yet another love song for yet another ship, and ...

So now, I'm going to try to write a love song for each of the possible pairings of the Mane Six, record them, and slap them up on YouTube. Kind of like "The Combinatorics Project", but with guitars and my subpar singing. I have no idea if the fandom has any desire whatsoever for a boatload of shippy songs, but I've become rather obsessed with the idea. We shall see if it comes to fruition.
