And so, later than I'd like but hopefully still good, I present to you the final chapter of Part/Act/Book 1 of Faultlines. This one should clear up a lot of the questions people have had about the backstory and set the stage for the next segment of our heroines' adventure. My pre-readers and I worked damn hard on this one, and I'm super eager to see what y'all think.
In addition, I regret to say that I will be taking a brief (1-2 month) break from adding new content to the story, both because school is about to start and I want to get started on the right foot, and because I'm going to be focusing a bit more on rewriting some of Act I to ensure that I've got a strong foundation for things to come. After this chapter is when the story really starts to go off the rails, and I want to make sure that the story I've written so far can support where I want it to go. The Eden/Sage chapters are mostly fine (maybe some streamlining), but Spectrum's storyline is going to get some work done. Not revealing anything right away, but I can see some cuts to filler, more characterization, and ensuring that the story is internally consistant and has more interesting things happening in it than it does right now. I've got big plans for the caravan, but before they happen I want to make sure Spec and co can handle them.
