And Then She Quit · 12:17am Jan 30th, 2012
I'm quitting writing... Since well, I'm not very good at it. People have been supportive in my desire to quit, so quit I will. I'll find something else to do, maybe. But yeah, as of now, and most likely permanently, I will no longer be writing. At all.
Bye everypony! I'll leave the story up though. Hah.
I most certainly disagree. Wouldn't have followed you otherwise(and considering Belle Crush has a 4.8 rating, seems the masses would disagree as well).
By all means don't write if you don't enjoy doing so, but if you do enjoy it then ignore those who desire you to quit.
Are you kidding me?! How can you say you're not good at writing when your story has a 4.8 after 120+ ratings? Please don't let yourself get discouraged, you are a great writer. Too many people, myself included, simply can't put words to paper. In that you are already more talented than most of us. Now I can't make this decision for you, but know that you have a talent that at least 120 people think is worth pursuing. I can only hope you reconsider this.
Who would be supportive in letting you quit? You are an excellent writer and you better not let anyone tell you otherwise. That's already been proven by the fact that after 100 ratings your story was maintaining a 4.8 rating. I can't say I'm not disappointed because that would be a lie. You're one of my favorite writers on this site, and are the reason I even enjoy fan fiction. Still, you shouldn't do something you don't like, even though you are amazing at said thing. I hope you change your mind or at least reconsider your ideas. Sad to see you go.
Yeah, I'm not going to repeat the numbers, but they're definitely in your favor. Whether or not you like writing is wholeheartedly up to you, but if you're quitting because you feel like you aren't good at it..
there is a significant group of people who would like to calmly slap some sense into you.
If you really want to stop writing, then do so - there's no sense in continuing to do something you don't enjoy, or which you just don't have time for in your life. But please don't stop just because you don't think people like your writing. "Belle Crush" is wonderful - it's the first story I ever started following on fimfiction - and I have all sorts of praise to offer on it. Besides, the only person who actually needs to like your writing is you. If you enjoy it, keep doing it. If not, then don't, and we will be sad to see you go.
I'm sorry to hear that, but if you're not happy then you're not happy - and you're the only person you should be writing for. Best of luck in any future endeavours!
