Nevermind the last blog post · 11:17am Aug 6th, 2016
I said I probably wouldn't be writing anything soon, which at the time was true, but I decided to write a little story to get out my feelings. So...maybe in a few days I'll post it...since I haven't really written enough to warrant posting it and wanted to draw a cover picture as well. I don't think it will be that great, as it will be my first writing for quite some time and is a bit of an experiment with writing style. Oh well...I hope someone enjoys it, at least.
Really wish I had more people I could share it with to get feedback on it though...It feels like total garbage to me and writing it has nearly made me not want to write anymore, but there don't seem to be many people with the time, energy, and willingness to read it and tell me what they think v.v
The current title is "No One Weeps Alone" (yes, I know it's bad). Here's the long description I wrote if it will interest anyone:
Summer Song has just lost her best friend and tries her best to accept her absence and cope with it, but she simply can't. Satin Sea was her only real friend and the world feels "full of nothing" without her.
Clinging to the solace of her journal, she begins to write, only to find a response one day from a sympathetic stranger. The stranger, a girl named AmelĂ, tells Summer of a foreign world where she lives, and they soon find that each can see the other's writing in their respective journals. They become pen pals of a sort, and subsequently fast friends as they share their secrets with each other and their friendship grows. Summer can even feel the hole in her heart slowly healing.
But one day, things take a turn for the worse...
I began this as a way of letting out much of the pain I had been feeling, an idea that came to mind as I was writing a blog post. It's also something of an experiment with writing style and devices, so please leave feedback below, positive or negative, on what you think!
The title is inspired by Ella Wheeler's poem "Solitude", from which comes the famous saying "Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Weep, and you weep alone."
Despite the implications, it is not actually a human in Equestria story. They both stay in their separate worlds, which becomes a major point in the story. That said, there's nothing wrong with HiE stories. I like a good HiE story myself ^^ Just wanted to try something different, I suppose.
If you want to read the story as it is and give feedback, post a comment or a PM and I can link the Google Doc.
Take care until next time <3
