Ok, I think I've had it with the time away from continuing the story while plinking away incrementally with editing revisions and working on a separate project.
Protecting Harmony - Rising Effort Chapter 3 is roughly half-written. It's covering the squad being sent to help protect the Bearers finally arriving. Actually been that way for a while now, but I diverted to other things, as well as trying to edit PH so I could bring the earlier parts up to standard with help from my standing editor, stupidhand14. I think I reached that point where the editing had become an 'eating me alive' situation and not making progress on the story itself was giving me nothing to charge my batteries. I can plink away at edits and fix up the first book a little at a time later. I find this important because my rocky gary stu cliche start deters readers that will probably very much enjoy all the things I have coming. And, well, I kinda want to finish the 5 books to the main PH storyline sometime in my natural lifespan without freaky life-extensions. Turning the Bearers into what they will eventually become is a long process. There will be much badassery down the road.
To Earn Our Equality I have a general idea of what's going to happen in Chapter 4, including a close with a new character I hope people will enjoy. I think it will be a real blast. Grace and Gezi may both end up with headaches. I will probably finish up the next chapter of PH first, but I hope to have something rolling in the near future. A good portion of the full story is already laid out in my head. There's a lot to do, but the time skips will carry things forward quicker than would otherwise be possible. The bulk of the story is set across roughly 22 years or so. The Epilogue will touch briefly on events about 50 or so years later in the first half, and a few centuries later during a critical event for ponies in the second half.
