I've seen The Amanda Show takes on Blockbuster . . . · 5:25pm Jul 20th, 2016

. . . and they're pretty funny. I like how the references to that company (which Viacom co-owned with Nickelodeon at the time of their taping) are spot on. According to this guy, there are aspects of the Blockblister operation that are hardly that far off from aspects of the real Blockbuster based on his own experiences:

The first Blockbuster stores had a much bigger selection than the independent video stores, but I only rented from them if the movie I wanted wasn't available anywhere else because they charged $3 for 3 days, while the other stores charged $2 or less for 1 day which was all I needed it for. They [deserved] to go out of business for hundreds of reasons- before DVD came out they did a horrible job supporting laserdisc (most stores didn't have them at all) and of course [they banned] NC-17 movies.

There are a few videos in my VHS collection that still have Blockbuster stickers on them. They're an easy find if you're looking for VHS tapes that were former rentals (same with rival Hollywood Video)

4103162 Makes ya wonder if a sketch actually showed that Blockblister charged a customer for three days when he rented a movie for just one day!

As a side note, I have two copies of the 1995 VHS of True Lies from FoxVideo. The experience of discovering I got a bootleg copy of the tape (I later bought the official studio copy) was similar to the experiences met by the customers in these sketches.
