I finished my second fic.

To provide some context for this story, at some point in time, I get the ingenious idea of adapting a joke into a brief short story. A few brainwaves whilst writing it later, it somehow turns into a somewhat coherent plot that takes the potential humour out of the punchline.

That was what I wrote for the Author’s Notes back in May, back when I didn’t really have a plot and I ended up leaving it in the backburner because I didn’t have time back then. But now it’s July, and time is aplenty! And so I transformed the 1000 word thing into a 6000 word monster, and all was good.

Now Why did the Cutie Mark Crusaders cross the road? is in the approval queue, so I hope it goes through without any kinks.

Other notes:
→ There were a few cases where I wasn’t sure whether to use the American term or the British term, e.g. bedside table (UK) or nightstand (US), so I used the US term since they’ll probably be more familiar to the American majority of this site. That doesn’t mean I’ll be adopting your weird misspellings of words—manœuvre and dialogue are the only spellings I’ll allow in my writing.
→ A verdacier is just ver d’acier (I hope I got the French right) condensed into one word, because I was too lazy to think of something more imaginative.
