Vegan Day 114 (or something… idek) · 9:05am Jul 11th, 2016

Hey! Who remembers Vegan Day 1?

I've nearly made it. One more week to go. (And I still have one remaining "day off", which I think I'll take on Thursday.)

So anyway, what effects has my vegan experiment had:

» I must be the only person ever to have gone vegan for nearly four months and lost no weight! Well, I've lost a kilogram or two, but nothing significant. Weight loss wasn't really the goal, but still, it would have been nice. It's probably because of the large quantities of peanut butter that have become part of my diet.

» Once it's over, I think I probably will end up eating a lot less meat than I used to. Before I started, I'd have about two vegetarian evening meals each week. (And pretty much all my breakfasts and half of my lunches would be vegetarian too.) Now I'll probably only have about two non-vegetarian meals a week.

» I look forward to having proper milk in my coffee. I mean… who ever thought that soy milk was a good idea?! It curdles when you mix it with boiling water! I'll leave you to think about that, my dear followers.

» Cheese will be making a come back. It will probably no longer be my "go to" snack, but I miss having a bit of parmesan on top of my pasta. I miss Mexican food. (Okay, not all Mexican food has cheese, but most of the good stuff does.)

» It will be so much easier to buy food in cafés. Although most offer soy milk instead of regular milk, at no extra cost, it's really, really difficult to find stuff to eat — it's all cakes (egg), pastries (butter), sandwiches (meat, cheese), chocolate (milk), and so on.

So yeah, Sunday will be my last day. :pinkiehappy:
