Happy Birthday Claire Corlett · 3:11am Jul 10th, 2016
It's still technically her birthday on my side of the globe. In any case, today is Claire Corlett's birthday. She is the voice actress for Sweetie Belle and has been her singing voice since Season 4 (prior to that, Apple Bloom's VA Michelle Creber was Sweetie Belle's singing voice). Claire has had a few other roles in MLP, as well as a few outside the show, and voice acting runs in her family as her father is Ian James Corlett (who you know as the first English voice of Adult Goku, the voice of Cheator from Transformers: Beast Wars and Beast Machines, Mega Man from the Ruby Sphears cartoon in the 90's, or Silver Shill).
Happy birthday, Claire. Though you haven't had much time to shine as Sweetie Belle so far this season, I'm looking forward to what you bring when we see Sweetie Belle again, especially now that we can focus on Sweetie Belle as an individual.
Happy belated B-day. Also, you mean Goku from the Ocean dub of DBZ?
4086901 Yes, for the first season, the start of the second season (but before Goku arrived on Namek), and the first movie hastily edited into a three part episode (Tree of Might). Afterwards, he was replaced by Peter Kelamis (the voice of Ralph in "Ed, Edd n Eddy"), who would later be replaced by Kirby Morrow towards the end of the Ocean Dub Cell Games.
4086910 Ah. I like Sean Schemmel better.
4086917 So do I, but Ian is second best and I'm hopeful he'll reprise the role for the Ocean dub of Kai. Peter Kelamis, I'll give him credit for serving as the inspiration for MasakoX's TFS DBZ Abridged Goku, but because Ocean skipped over the entire Frieza saga, he never got to voice one of Goku's greatest moments (his first Super Sayian transformation). Kirby was alright at first, but like most of the talent in the late Ocean dub, he detorited in quality fast (though he had a surprisingly good Super Sayian 3 voice).
4086934 Yup. I've really never seen much of the ocean dub. I do try to watch Kai on Toonami every Saturday night.
