Okay, for the real Zygarde anaylsis now! · 5:08pm Jun 11th, 2016

After some time to calm down, I've finally taken it upon myself to analyze this new Pokemon trailer. I won't kid when I say my mind was absolutely blown when I saw this news, but nevertheless it is time to at last look deep into exactly what this trailer is trying to tell us. Y'know, besides the fact Zygarde is now your new god.

Right off the bat, we hear that new Pokemon battle theme. Whether this is the wild Pokemon theme or the trainer theme is hard to say, but I hope its the wild Pokemon theme since it simply doesn't sound like a trainer battle theme. Don't get me wrong, the track is still really good! But it fits more in the wild, if you know where I'm coming from.

Okay, then we see doggy Zygarde being just a ball of cuteness (and a glowing anus, for some reason). It's fighting against a Garchomp here, which is already badass in itself. But then BAM!! Dragon Claw to the face! Zygarde seems to be on its last legs! However, at 5 HP left, Zygarde absorbs cells within the area and becomes PERFECT ZYGARDE, totally not an anime reference at all! With an increase of speed, it jumps into the air and fires a powerful attack at Garchomp, creating a "Z" shape and absolutely annihilating it. Seeing how I heard the Super Effective sound effect at the end, I'll assume this new attack is a Dragon-type attack.

Oh, and the damage output happens before the big explosion at the end. That last part is probably Zygarde just showing off, the cheeky bugger he is.

A good thing to note here is that your HP bar doesn't completely disappear when the text appears, which was a minor irk I always had with XY and ORAS. I'm glad I can now sort of see the HP of my Pokemon and whatever. It's nothing really big, but it does put me at ease.

Secondly, we get to see what doggy Zygarde is up to. It's obviously a little weaker than PERFECT ZYGARDE, but it looks to be powerful enough to take on Metagross, which was and still is a pseudo-legendary Pokemon. It has access to Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves, which is pretty handy to have if you ask me. But other than his rocking scarf, there isn't much else to say about this guy.

I think just the absolute shock of PERFECT ZYGARDE being in the new game is enough for me.
