Is in my town! Obviously. But I'm not going because I'm wicked poor. C'est la vie. It really is unfortunate, though. A bunch of TeamFourStar members (and a ton of other great voice actors) are there this year.
Le Suck all around.
Funny story though: My two sisters who aren't at all related to each other both had babies on the same day exactly one year apart. Easier for me to remember birthdays, but double the present costs in a few years. Trade offs are hard.
I know how you feel about the con. I'm going to be one town away in Utah from Salt Lake City Ponycon when it happens, but I'm going to be busy for both days of it . Gonna miss out on the chance to meet a few online friends, but oh well, maybe next year.
TeamFourStar was before my time on the interwebs, sadly. I've seen bits of it, but most of my memories are old and faded. Wait, are they still going? I thought they had stopped because of stupid copyright reasons or something?
As for babies, I can attest that nieces/nephews are well worth giving presents. Though they really seem to grow up fast...
3997302 TeamFourStar is DEFINITELY alive and well. They have the occasional copyright thing but their parody falls well into fair use so things don't usually stick. I think they have an ad deal with FUNimation now, or something, too. The only thing they've lost permanently was their one-shot Attack on Titan Abridge, but that was just for giggles anyhow.
Hell, they even have their own studio now in Dallas/Houston/whatever city Texas. Their Patreon pulls is fueled by 2000 fans to the tune of ~$11,000 per month.
In the last 30-odd days they've released the revamped World's Strongest movie and episode 53 of DragonBall Z Abridged. They have a gaming channel now, and a few of the voice actors do in-character LPs beside the cast and crew streams.
They've got Hellsing Ultimate Abridged and they're doing some pioneering work with Final Fantasy VII MachinAbridged now. They're even throwing an Abridging competition this month with prizes to the best videos.
If you can't tell, TFS gets me super hyped. Along with RoosterTeeth. Something about the raw passion it takes to turn a hobby into a life-changing conglomerate to bring laughter and entertainment to the masses.
Seems like only yesterday I was rushing off to the hospital when I heard my sister's water broke. Now, the kid's a year old. And another one now, in another state from another sister. I'm reallyhoping my third, last, and youngest sister doesn't follow suit. I feel too old as it is.
