Dear Miss K——

Thank you very much for the many colorful pictures of Rarity you sent. I can tell you worked hard on them, especially the one with Rarity playing her keytar. I will add them to my collection of pony things and treasure them always.

I am so glad to hear that you and your dad will be returning to TrotCon this summer. It will certainly be an adventure staying overnight for the convention. Your dad tells me that last year you found it strange to see so many older pony fans and it was a bit unsettling. Most of these fans are in high school or college and are going from being kids to being grown ups, a time that, as Pinkie might say, is nervousciting. Events like TrotCon lets everyone have fun like kids, share the love of ponies, and practice friendship.

When you are as old as they are, I hope that you can still have kid-like fun and remember that friendship is indeed magic.

For me, I am a very old pony, and while I have not forgotten how to have fun, I have many things I need to do this summer. I have to fix my poor house, for it is actually falling apart! I have to fix myself, so I am in good shape and, like Granny Smith, have my hip fixed: Then I can kick up my hooves again. I also need to spend time with my family, just like you and your dad will do when you go to TrotCon.

With all these things happening, I am sorry to say I cannot promise I will be at TrotCon this year. I will try, but I would not want to make a promise I could not keep.

If I can go, I will tell your dad. He is certain to spot me there. If I cannot go, I hope you will be so kind as to prepare a friendship report that tells me about all the great things you and your dad did there.

Your pony friend

From one old pony to another, I'd just like to say thank you for spreading the joy of friendship. You are a cool pony.

Thanks. Trying to do my best, that's all.

Miss K's dad is a co-worker of mine and takes her older brothers to comic conventions, so it is only right that she has something just for her, some special time with her dad. She's reaching the higher end of the show's demographic (well, the original, intended one) so I don't know how long she'll stay interested, but I hope memories of all the convention craziness will stick with her when she gets to be an old, jaded teen.

Oh, and it helps that her dad is a nascent brony.
