Seriously, I just thought I'd let you guys know that things are smoothing out over here, but it's still a bit of a mess. The worst of it is over though, so yeah.
I'm in between jobs right now, so that's going to slow me down. The good news is that I may have a solution to that next month, so wish me luck.
Major Projects
The Harmony League
Look, I'm thrilled that you all enjoy it, but I took up something I simply wasn't ready for. I had a great idea, a good bit of drive, but not much else. Now, I'm not going to just wash my hands of this. I've seen too many up and coming authors end great stories because they realized they weren't ready for it and never came back to it. I. Want. This. Story. Done. And come Hell or bad internet connection, it's getting done!
Now, the biggest mistake I made was introducing the Ruby Flame arc early. I got confident and then stepped into something I am wholly unprepared for. Fine. Okay. I'll back off... for now. Eventually, I'm coming back to this thing and I'm going to take a hammer and torch to it, reforging it into something really epic.
When I'm ready to retry The Harmony League, it will be getting a complete re-haul. Everything is getting touched up. I've never been happy with the first chapter, so I'll be happy to take that and reshape it into something better. The Ruby Flame arc is a mess and a half, so I'll likely be fixing that as well... and don't get me started on the mechanics of the Hero Souls and the planned Villain Souls.
When I have half of the first story finished, which is currently planned to encompass seasons one and two, I will petition the Admins to allow me to re-post the story so you can be updated whenever there's a new post. If that fails, I'll replace the current version's chapters with the new ones and post a blog regarding it. Until then, let's settle for some smaller projects.
Minor Projects
Time Turning The Doctor is also going to be cut off for now, as I have no source material to work with thanks to Netflix taking the show off the site. Jerks. That means, for the time being, Tartarus Forged is the current project. Expect the first chapter before next Friday.
I think... yeah, Tartarus Forged is going to be mostly something simple and comedic. Basically Twilight completely one-upping every villain in the show by a mile and a half, in the process teaching her new friends how to use some of the tools she brought back with her. I don't know about you, but the idea of Fluttershy holding a Mini-Gun and looking at it with innocent curiosity tickles me pink.
I pity the poor fools that mess with this version of the Elements of Harmony.

Glad to hear that you plan on continuing Harmony League but saddened by the fact that it is now on the back burner. Hopefully you can gain confidence in your ability to tell a story and can fix what you see wrong with the story and the first chapter. I will check out your new story when you publish it!
3941287 You know what's funny? There was never supposed to be a Ruby Flame arc, just a chapter called Ruby Flame where Twilight got attacked by Flare, and Spike convinced him she was innocent. It would go on about a Dragon's greatest strength not being their emotion magic, but rather a ruby flame that burned brighter and stronger the more determined that Dragon became to protect someone else. It spiraled so far out of control that I have no choice but to tear it out and try again from scratch.
I based it off of the Will of Fire from Naruto, and was the original basis for my choice of having Spike's Hero Soul being Naruto.
I intend to remake it as it was intended, a chapter regarding True Strength in Dragons, in the remake.

I think it would work better later in the story then where it is now. I would suggest more "Super Twilight" chapters after she talks to her family. I think I understand why she lost her cutie mark but getting rid of it now prompts a major change to her character instead of the more gradual build up of changes. You went from only having Twilight to in the span of a few chapters having four total souls. My advice would be to put Ruby Flame around the time he meets Garble and crew and space in some of the other souls awakening or beginning to stir in first. By moving the arc you can better plan on how you want it to go. Also always feel free to PM me if you want to bounce ideas around!
Well, I have to admit, I feel bad that you feel the need for a near-complete rewrite, but I respect the fact that this is your story, which makes it your call. And if the wait means the story will be that much better, well, it will be worth said wait.
It's a bit sad that you are unsatisfied with your work, but I think it shows great dedication to try to always make your writing as high-quality as possible.
