Season 6 Got Me Cringing · 3:13am May 1st, 2016
I liked Season 3-5 out of the 6 seasons so far. Season 1 was initial world building and set the stage for what was to come. Season 2 gave us slightly better lessons. Season 3 allowed us to have optional lessons and learn to have fun while characters build, especially when Twilight got her wings... BUY OUR TOYS. Season 4 had Twilight and our group get used to the new royal status and more changes... and subliminal messaging increased hardcore. Season 5 gave us new lessons based on extreme world and character building.
There were moments that I skipped ahead because it felt like my brain could not handle the sudden stress a certain musical number or situation brought upon it.
Season 6 got me skipping through too much.
- Twilight doesn't feel like Twilight.
- We had a build up of how a pony should look and act as a foal. Flurry Heart should get with the program instead of being an OP character that got Nerfed thanks to a character we barely know.
- Princess Cadence is too fabulous to care for her baby and Shining isn't going to hire a nanny.
- Starlight is a ponified Invader Zim and Sunset Shimmer baby, but taking after her mother. She is either interesting in her "I used to be a dictator" shtick or I want to shove a stick in my ear and pull the trigger (not really; just being dramatic... but I do cringe).
- Trixie is not Trixie.
- Oh, look! Beloved background characters!
- Princess Celestia and Luna get more screen time than their voices.
- Not enough Mane 6. And when there is Spike, Maud, or Sunburst becomes the best character.
- I don't like Pinkie Pie again. Season 2 she was a friendly bully. Season 6 got her killing my ears.
- The CMC almost feels like filler instead of nice side stories. ...and Applebloom got dumber while Sweetie stopped burning things. I really want to know if you can set fire on fire. She can burn juice so why not singe fire to a burning crisp?
- We need more Luna.
By the way, 2016 Powerpuff Girl isn't too bad but it's not right. I like how it's updated, but some things are just wrong. Everything is round and cute, there twerking with memes, ending theme sucks, and the Principle Celestia equivalent is gone.
They made metta hand jokes for the girls, why not make metta missing face jokes?
Fairly Odd Parents and Sponge Bob Square Pants have rabies. We need to mercy-kill or reboot it. Mega Man, Banjo & Kazooie, and Crash Bandicoot need a return or a reboot. At least as a TV show with a game series. These characters are too good to let go.
