Dear Crystal Diary,

Tonight, as I ready for bed, the lights mysteriously dimmed in our bedroom. I held my breath as I knew what this meant, my heart hammering in sweet anticipation as the air chills around me though the window is tightly shut.

My lover came to me in a soft, dark mist, as he always does, reforming into the solid image of a handsome, tall stallion, coat as dark charcoal, jet mane and tail that move as if they had a life of their own. His trapping are those of a King - royal, fur lined and ermine trimmed cloak across his strong back, steel armor greaves around his legs, breastplate and horned crown framing a blood red unicorn's horn. I can already feel his regal presence as he stands at the foot of my bed, crystal red eyes against a backdrop of emerald green, the violet mist of his dark powers seeping from the corners of his eyes.

Those eyes pierce my soul with their gaze. He says my name in a deep voice that I have heard only in the most heated dreams.

"Nyx."

I bow to my King, feeling his darkness overcome my resistance, my will, wrapping my heart in heated, passionate promises. That is all that is warm about him as he regards me as he does all concubines to his dark love - with a cool, practiced eye that betrays no undue emotion, but the expectations of what he will take from me and believe me, it will be more than a willing submission on my part.

I express my fears that he will be caught. The Royal Pony sisters have gotten word from the Crystal Empire of his escape and I fear for his life.

"Not to worry, my pet," he rumbles (and he does mean 'pet' quite literally). "No pony DARE take you from the Great King Sombra!"
