Do Scary and Ponies Not Mix?

Being (a) an insomniac, (b) ignored by the Gods of Creativity, and (c) in the mood for something scary, I've been scouring Fimfiction for something scary. I'm not talking about scary stories that you tell around a campfire scary. I'm talking about the kind of scary that makes fear burrow it's way under your skin where it festers until it begins manifesting itself in your dreams. The kind of scary that sticks with you for years, like when you watch a documentary on the fucked up things humanity has done in the past.

My problem is this: I want to read a scary story that's actually, well, scary. But for the life of me I can't find anything that fits the bill. I'd prefer something pony related (because I am a monster). Psychological stuff is vastly superior to jump-scare stories as well. None of this Five Night's at Freddy's crossover bullshit. If anyone has any sort of suggestions, I'd love to hear it. I'll be up anyway.
