The Gift of a third wheel · 2:41pm Apr 3rd, 2016
Awh, poor Maud, I feel for you. Really I do, I've been there. Hanging out with your friends who happen to be a couple, sister and friend in this case, and they asked you to come along because they want to spend time with you. And even though they say it's all for you, they spend the entire time getting all touchy feely behind a menu. Maud represents the struggle of many third wheelers all around the world and we stand with you... or sit with you, patiently but passive aggressively.
Anyway, even without the high level of Raripie, I loved the episode. These funny slice of life episodes that focus on character development with great dialogue and shots are my favourite kind of episodes. This one, especially, was great and I look forward to the new brother duo writing more episodes. I don't know about you guys but most of my worries about season 6 have been put to rest with this episode and I think, and hope, we're on for another great season.
Now, if you're like me and living off the Raripie hype, I'd recommend you check out my story "Just Another Day" which was my contribution to what turned out to be the shortest drought this fandom has had. I'm quite happy with how it turned out and would recommend you guys check it out, just don't mind the weird alternate history bits I slid in there. I hope you enjoy it.
I second the recommendation of the last paragraph. Not only it has the right measure and brand of sweet (and amazing Rarity/Pinkie characterizations), but one of the staples (to me) of Pinkie ships (particularly with Rarity and Fluttershy) is how she tries her hardest to adapt to her partner's environment, and this story features one of the cutest instances of that (if you pay attention to it, unlike her partner )
