Do you think it'd be worth making a group dedicating to helping new users get acquainted to various etiquette and common pitfalls on this site? I.E. Explaining basic writing ideas that people come out with that are always shot down by the site, and why they're (usually) poor quality? Not so much dedicated to trying to teach certain writing techniques or whatnot, just helping new users understand basic site rules and writing mistakes and why they're that way?
I think that would be a great idea, I certainly could have used it when I was a rookie writer. *insert slight cringe meme* But all people on the site already know how to write, but they, like me when I started out but they got or get lost in the what of of Fanfiction. For the other part, just devoted, level minded people who are here to really help could be the Holy Grail for new writers. I support this :)
3833552 Thanks for the support. Of course, the hardest part would probably be getting the word out and actually getting the group on its feet.
To be fair, I see a fair amount of users confused as to why their story got downvotes, is ignored, or why their story just didn't get the reaction they expected. My hope would be that they could come to the group and maybe find a thread explaining part of the reasons.
This would be brilliant.
