Sneaky Jules Writes a Blog at Midnight To Skew the Results to a Question

First the old business: For the fifteenth or so time "I am back and writing and etc." but we'll see. I am writing Masks in another tab right now, but this chapter hasn't really done it for my motivation in the past. Maybe now that I've changed its role in the overarching plot (which I assure you, is a real thing) I'll do it.

    It's a good thing I'm not professional

So instead of writing Masks or the thirty minute prompts I hammered out a rough outline for the only story idea I had that no one seemed interested in, wrote two chapters of one of the more interesting ones (with an entire cast of characters I have yet to name, so every character is replaced with <Friend from town> and <son> or <protagonist>) and then stared at Masks for about forty

    I'm Just Glad It's Over

That one's probably not a self-help book either, and if it is, it's not a very good one.

This post is about this past week and why I'm glad it's over.

    Choices

Cards on the table: That's not a nearby self-help book. It probably is the title of one somewhere though.

This post has more purpose than ones I've made before though. This is here to tell... three? Yeah, probably three specific people what I've decided to write and then anyone else who wants to look.

    More confessions:

    "Starting Again"

I've decided that since every time I make one of these I start off with an apology and then move on to empty promises about improving myself pretty soon I'll either have to rebrand myself as a self-help guru and move to California or just switch to Bojack Horseman over a character from Pulp Fiction.

... Come to think of it both of those are Netflix Originals starring Will Arnett... Huh.

Huh.

Either way since I'm running out of ways to say I'm back or starting over I'm literally going to use self-help book titles for these things from now on.

Anyways I'm back again, but I'll break form by not apologizing... yet.
I've just published a new chapter on the Thirty Minute Ponies thing. Prompt 8. Not the original story, that got weirder and weirder and weirder and now it's a whole new thing on the backburner that has, ironically, nothing to do with dancing.
(The original prompt was "Write a story about ponies dancing.")

I'll probably write another short one or two in the next 24 hours since I'm stranding in a god damn airport for the next twelve hours, a plane for four, another airport for two, and then two more on another plane. I shouldn't need to spend twelve hours here but my roommates are morons, so now I'm alone in Seattle for twelve goddamn hours.

Now back to your regularly scheduled... whatever you call my blogs I guess.
Sorry I don't write often enough. There. I did it.
It needed to be said, despite what I said earlier, it's been close to a year since I actually published anything new.

Upon further introspection, I may actually be a Will Arnett character.

State of the union:
Masks: I honestly don't know what's going on here. I'm honestly thinking about just kind of rewriting most of it to keep it on track better, and cut the original plan of not having the reader know who the Mare do Well is until the end with a big reveal in favor of a Walter White/Heisenberg thing where we get to see the identity destroying more and more of their personal life. I'll figure that out with my editor (if he's even still willing to deal with me. I'm honestly surprised every time he answers me considering how unreliable I am on everything.)

Epitaph (Working Title): This was originally going to be a neat story about Vinyl and Octavia and overcoming things and it was going to be dark and then have a nice ending. Then I started writing an outline because I cannot commit to any one thing long enough to do it and it got a whole lot darker with a tragic end. Then I thought about it some more and almost changed the whole thing to a much more uplifting and light-hearted story. So I have no idea where this one's going but I might just end up writing like three disconnected TaviScratch stories that are all wildly different.

The Forest: There are two different versions of this bubbling around, one featuring a new character and one featuring Twilight. Both center around a pony journeying deep into the Everfree to try and save or find their home. It should be neat but it might take a while to get there since I'm a terrible person I have a lot of things on my schedule.

The Search for Twilight (Working Title): This is what that Thirty Minute Ponies prompt turned into. The short short version is that Twilight gets tossed out into the timestream via an artifact and ends up drifting either through time or dimensions. Without actual control over her journey she's essentially lost. So Spike (and probably Trixie) set out on an epic journey to save her.

Crossing Lines: Twilight receives a visitor from the future, claiming to be here to "get things back on track" because Twilight "hasn't been following the script" but things aren't what they appear.

So this section was supposed to give you an idea of where I sit on each of these. The short answer is: They're all crude outlines, with the Forest and Crossing Lines being a little more fleshed out.
Long answer is: I need to focus on school and balance my programming/modding hobby thing too. Ironically, this answer appears to be shorter.

Maybe your problem is that you just need to come out as Will Arnett completely.

"Search for Twilight" sounds really interesting, and "Crossing Lines" and "The Forest" do, too.

And yeah, I'm still here. Basically, I'm just about as unreliable and that makes all of this totally relatable and workable for me. We should do gaming stuff sometime.

3815846 You caught me, I'm just Will Arnett pretending to be someone who isn't Will Arnett but is very similar.
We should play something together. Something cheap preferably. How do you feel about Lord of the Rings and Hack'n'Slash?

3815866 Love LotR. Haven't done much Hn'S. But anything's fun with other people.

3815934 The game is "War in the North" and it's an incredibly fun game to play with a friend (or two). 20 bucks at full price, I think I paid that but I knew I loved the game before I bought it on Steam.

Edit: Army of Two and Splinter Cell (Conviction+Blacklist) are a lot of fun too on the shootier and stealthier fronts respectively.

3815939 My old enemy... money.

In the meantime, how about Borderlands 2? I still haven't beaten it yet.

3816031 I haven't finished that yet either. We should totally do that.

3816110 On the other hand, Skyrim has one or two mods for co-op mode.
