Retirement · 4:33pm Mar 16th, 2016
After nearly a month of trying to decide if I was going to just retire or not, I finally made my decision. Though I don't have many readers, I do read a lot of Fanfiction written by some really great authors on here, Arby Works, The V Claw, Ezrenial, and my all time favorite, Writing Spirit, just to name a few. During my span of seven years of writing Fanfiction for multiple fandoms, I have finally realized that as a Fanfiction writer I will never be able to reach my full potential and actually make a career out of something that I love to do. For nearly five years I have been working on my own, actual book, and the only thing that stops me from writing it is that while I am still in the process of world building, language, religion, politics, I have been trying to learn how to create characters a bit better, to make each one as unique as the people we meet everyday.
In short, I am done writing Fanfiction, and all the stories that I had wanted to write have been filed away, maybe to be revisited later down the road, but for now I want to actually spread my wings and soar, instead of just gliding from branch to branch. I want the creative freedom that I have been lacking on here, the freedom to create my own characters, in my own world, and to share that creation with the world. Whether its a best seller or not, I have a great many ideas that I want to write in a book, some I can see as movies, so maybe I can follow my dreams more, and create magic both in a book, and on the silver screen. Only time will tell. I think for now though, I'll keep reading the stories posted on here, and offer feedback, maybe be their critic, haven't decided yet. Farewell my fellow writers, keep on making the Friendship of Magic happen with your proverbial pencils...
Well, I wish you nothing but the best, Shadow Dragon. You really do have a talent for writing, so I hope you achieve your goals for the future.
I'm still gonna follow you here, because that's what I do for friends.
If you're looking for advice, then consider being more punctual when you design characters. Do your best to absorb other people's method of writing and improving your own, though this site favors sex stories far more than any other category nowadays.
