Hello everypony!!!
After so long it feels good to be in the driver's seat once again. After going through a time of self discovery, and through the Army for a while, I'm finally back where I feel welcome, and can practice my writing once more. The bug has bitten me, and boy did it bite hard. Think I might actually have a scar from where it bit.
Anyway, for those of you that follow me I will be returning to some of my earlier works to hopefully finish them, with one a co-writer would actually be really grateful, but other than that, within the next few months a few new chapters should be posted, as well as some rewritten.
There is something that I want to address upon my return as well. Being that I love everything and literally anything about dragons, I have done a bit of research into dragonology and have learned a few things, which I will be putting into my stories. The one thing that I wanted to make clear out of the gate is that the reason I have Spike always biting Rarity on the neck is because of this; when dragons mate it is typical for the female to bite the male upon their first coupling, because even though they don't have that 'special' part, it still hurts, its the first time. That being said, you might ask, "Why then does he bite her?" Well that's where I have to differ a bit. The male usually takes the bite, and it never really heals, becoming a mark that he bares to show that he is taken, and that the scent of another female will ever affect him. Thus the female becomes covered in the scent of the male, as his mark to show the other males that she is taken.
What does this have to do with Spike and Rarity? The same rule sort of applies, Spike would cover Rarity with his scent, but because she doesn't have the sharp canines that a dragon has, she really can't bite him. Therefore, in keeping with tradition, I just simple have him bite her, that way one, she can display that mark to other stallions, since they won't smell Spike's scent on her, and two, because its a mark of their love for each other.
On a side note, I wanted to point out to all of those that write the clopfics with Sparity, and pretty much any stallion paired with any mare, ponies are small horses, and in actuality, horses have that 'special' part that human females do, actually many mammals have that, even though it serves no actual purpose. So, with that being said, for her to feel nothing, especially when most of the time she is saving herself for him, she would be in so much pain...
