Personal Poop & Surprise · 2:22am Mar 15th, 2016
Okay, now that I've settled into the role of a pony fan-fiction-writing hobbyist (wow, did I seriously just type that?) I think it's time that I publish an authentic release agenda. I am going to release a The Perfect Job chapter every three weeks, beginning on Sunday.
For those of you (like, the two of you) who follow the story, know that I'm in a bit of a writing slump because I'm trying to figure out the general direction I want it to go in from here on out, as well as take time to word such a critical part of the plotline. The story was originally going to be a lot more copy-and-paste from its inspiration, the Hypnotists arc, but now that I think about it, Discord can't really fit the role of the "pupil," so it's definitely going to stray far more than I intended from that storyline. That said, the story will still be using plenty of elements from the trilogy. If you like what you see so far, then you can rest assured that the narrative is in good hooves.
But that isn't the real reason you're reading, now, is it? No, you're reading for the surprise I promised in the heading, which I will be glad to present you with now that all of my personal poop is out of the way. I have decided to make a sort of rewards program! Starting Sunday, I am going to be keeping track of each like, dislike, bookshelf add, and comment I receive (except the spam ones). This helps support me psychology, by knowing that even if I don't get positive feedback, there are still people who genuinely care about my work. It truly keeps me going. (Can I hear you say, "overblown ego?") I know this is a buzzphrase (yes, that is now a word because I say so) within the Brony community - just look at Josh Scorcher or Animated James if you don't believe me - but it's true.
My first reward - for, let's say, 25 interactions - is a new story. I won't say much about it yet because I'm just that much of a tease, but I will hint that it stars two of the Mane 6, and that I'm astounded that I can't find it anywhere else on FIM Fiction. When we get to the ten-interactions mark, I'll clue you in and release a schedule.
Whew! That was way longer than I expected. Better get to work on my next chapter - I'm on number six - so that I'm ahead of schedule when I put up five on Sunday. See you then!
