A Cup of Coffee · 3:13am Mar 11th, 2016
This is a personal review of my story A Cup of Coffee.
First off, I wanted to get something out there because I hadn't posted anything in a while. I enjoy doing these short fics, although I feel kinda guilty when I see I haven't posted for a different story in a while. I decided to write this story because I wanted to (mostly) let the reader get what they wanted from the story. As my new bio states, the reader can interpret the story as they like. This was mostly experimental, but I myself saw a meaning in the story after it was written that felt just right.
Next, I wrote the story in a just under an hour. It wasn't too long, but I did question a few parts, and there was some uncertainty. This story was made from scratch, so there had to be internal conflict while I wrote it. The story itself was never proofread, other than me going back and looking it over real quick before I posted it. I decided to do it that day because it was the leap year day, and without anything ready to post, I got to work.
Finally, Now that the story has been out a few days (I believe in letting a story leave your mind so that you are seeing clearly) I think the story itself is loose and has a few interpretations. I think I could have improved in some places, but overall it's alright. I didn't pass the story through moderation because I believe it would pass anyway, and I didn't want it to get posted just past midnight. Normally I wouldn't trust myself with that kind of decision, but I guess I was selfish in wanting it posted on leap year day.
I hope you enjoyed!
