This is a personal review of my story Lost and Found.
First, I'd like to say that this story has been in the works for at least a year. Last year on April Fools, I wrote the story very basic and mostly through the viewpoint of Tyrone. I thought I had done well, leaving the end of the story in a big middle finger to the audience. However, it did not pass moderation because of its lack of ponies. After it was brought to my attention, I realized that there was no denying that. Afterwards, I put aside my project until a few weeks before posting it.
Next, the story plot itself came from an outside source, when I was wondering how well I can voice my character. Up until now they haven't been fleshed out enough or given development that they felt genuine, and I've often favored a set problem that the cliché human has to go through. This time however, I decided to write a full human story that had no ponies in it. After it was finished, I found the part where humans can be introduced and then set the story itself into motion. After it was finished, I felt that there were enough ponies to make it a Fimfiction story, as well as mainly human to give it a human tag, and then meaningful enough to post on the site.
The story itself was decent I believe. Most of my stories I don't enjoy after they're finished, and some I find better than others. The story itself, provided its entirely a big middle finger to the audience, is flawed, but the character interactions are what I believe the best parts of the story. Tyrone wasn't inspired by anyone in particular, so get that out of your head. I've been testing a different story with a female lead, so if you're a fan of fleshed out characters with mediocre storylines, then keep an eye out for Fog.
Thanks for Reading!
