It's flooding! · 10:42pm Mar 9th, 2016
This is one of those days I'm glad I live up on the mountain. (I you can call it that.) We are OK, the deepest puddle is about six inches deep, but this is what the town looks like right now. We might not get snow much, but this is supposed to continue for the next four days.
Well, there are no dead fish in the roads, and no cows standing in the middle of lakes, so I can be thankful for that much. (20 years ago, that happened.)
VK out.
I'll be praying for everyone there.
3800081 The city my Grandparents live in just declared a state of emergency. The prayers are appreciated.
Yikes. Looks like ya'll got hit hard with th rain. We had a flood like this back in 2008 where I live. Got so bad that one road(more like a bridge) not far from where I live literally gave out and for the next eight months there was a 20 foot wide, 18 foot deep hole in the middle of the road. Best wishes for anyone around your area.
3800088 I will definitely pray for them, right now.
3800103 We have several, country roads like that- flooding is quite normal, but this bad hasn't been seen for a while.
I don;t think you have to worry about the cows. I hear they can float. i think
3800258 Nope, it's happened.
3800281 yeah. There's a lot of country roads especially where I live and we have a lot of dirt roads so some of them got washed out by the flood
3800344 I can imagine. This storm is covering most of the south.
3800447 oh yeah ya'll live down there. I live up in Indiana. I wish I lived down south. Warmer weather
3800612 Warmer? It's not gotten below 50 all winter! If we don't stay in rain, we could easily get up to 120f this summer. And the bugs are HORRIBLE.
3800635 I can deal with the bugs, I just don't do cold weather. Two years ago we got so much snow school was cancelled for two weeks. And the temperature got to -5°F with a wind chill of -50°F. I dunno how they figured that. But it was cold. I like warm weather. I'd rather live down south than up here
3800651 I've had two heat strokes, and have been stung by wasps so many time I have epileptic episodes every time I'm stung.
You don't know bugs. One year, I walked out of my house, across my lawn, and the ground moved with grasshoppers. The sky was filled with them.
3800860 yikes. I have seen things similar to that. My great grandparents live down in Florida and one year I kid you not the sky was almost black with cicadas or whatever they were. As far as wasps, I hate them things. Wasps, bees, and hornets, I hate. But I can deal with them. I also overheat very easily so I need to make sure I am properly hydrated 24/7. Especially because I only have 1 kidney and my body just doesn't work 100% so I need to take extra precaution with heat
3800886 Don't come to TX any later than March, or earlier than November, it will destroy your health.
3800907 Ah. I gotcha. Never been to Texas. Heard it's nice there most of the time
3800925 ... That as been debated. The bugs, heat, and in my neck of the woods, bad soil is about all I can complain about. I live on a plot of land that used to be a cotton plantation.
3801035 ah. That'd have been within the last 100-150 years since it was still in operation
3801126 yeah, but the soil is scanty st best. It is mostly sand around here.
3801173 I can see that. There's usually more sand around the coastlines unless it's the desert
3801175 Very true.
3801179 My favorite state I've ever been too would either be Kentucky or Alabama. My dad and I got to Bowling Green Kentucky every October for a huge Car Show/Drag Racing event called the NMRA(National Mustang Racing Association) Nationals. Last year me, my dad, his girlfriend, and his girlfriends daughter all went to Alabama to see his girlfriends parents. The hotel we stayed at was literally right next to the beach. Crazy expensive. $1,000 for 5 people for 1 week. And this is no exaggeration when I say one hotel room was big enough that you could live in them. 2 bedroom, 2 baths, a living room, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, a laundry room, and a patio deck. If I could afford it I would buy one of those rooms. Which I heard you actually could buy one for about $1.5 million to $2 million
3801191 I bet. But those are good states, far enough North it's not hot, but south enough there isn't as much snow.
3801598 yeah
3801779 Tennessee is another good one.
3801794 I like going there too. Haven't stayed there in years though
3801822 I was four the last time I got that far North.
3801824 wow. You don't travel a whole lot huh?
3801848 haven't left town in 2 years.
3801951 wow. I couldn't stay up here for two years straight without leaving at least once. There is absolutely nothing to do where I live in my town. Restaraunts, a drag strip, a mall, Bogeys, 2 or three parks, and a couple of movie theaters, and I've done all of these. I gotta get out of state every once in a while to liven things up a bit
3802032 I hardly leave the house. I don’t drive, and we live way out in the country. The only driver in the family works. Most of the time, I am pretty content.
3802102 ah I gotcha
