Honestly surprised that I caught one of these, but what the hell. I've seen people doing this all the time on DA and Tumblr, it was only a matter of time until it hit Fimfic and, consequently, me. Don't know if any of you guys heard about the /fic/ write-off over on Ponychan. Well I threw my hat in the ring despite my lack of ability, some of those guys are geniuses. The idea was to write a short story over the weekend pertaining to a theme we were told on the Friday, sweet right? Well, this thing needs voters, ponies with enough time on their hands to sort through the 84,000 or so words and rate them. Nineteen stories overall and you have until 6th February to do it, so that's two weeks of time to read them.

Now all this fun came at a price however, I'm still only sitting on 6,235 words for Halo: Contact Equestria. I will try my utmost to have it uploaded by Sunday, maybe earlier. I know it's been almost two weeks but I've been going through a strange time as a writer, I keep having the urge to start one-off fics that end up going nowhere. I'm still entertaining the idea of a story about pirates, as I read Treasure Island for the first time yesterday, hoping to use it for English Coursework. But yeah, if you've got the time, check out the Write-Off. It was pretty darn fun and now it just needs voters. There's some seriously good entries there too.
