    My Good Friend Needs Help

Hey, gang, I'll keep it brief.

My good friend Majin Syeekoh needs your help. He set up a GoFundMe, and if you could all help him out a bit, I'd be forever grateful.

    NSFW IGO Poll

I Get Off is in the works, and in addition to the new chapter update, I would also like to write some straight up lewd shorts. I'm curious as to where would be more appropriate to post those shorts, right here on chillbook1 or on my NSFW alt. So I threw up a poll

If there's no particular consensus, they'll probably end up on LewdChapter.

    It's Back, And It's Finished

There was supposed to be more to this, but the guy who set that up... I'm not him anymore. So I wanted to give this story some proper closure even if it meant skipping a bit to the end. Sorry if it's a little sloppy, but I needed to do this.

Man, it feels good to see this thing marked as complete

What it says on the tin, folks.

In Equestria, why do they have a ten-digit number system? Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be based on the number 4, because of the hooves?

Using the word "everypony" doesn't actually make any sense. Human's aren't the only things with bodies, so there's no reason for ponies to use the term "everypony". Plus, we don't say "everyperson" or "everyhuman".

If their large unit of time is "moon", then Equestrian calendars must be super weird.

Either bits are super worthless as currency or Equestrians are just douchebags with insane mark-up on sold goods. 2 bits for a tomato seems absurd, considering they're apparently made of gold.

What are the silver coins in Equestria called, and how come we only see them once?

Cloudsdale, as a structure, makes zero sense, according to the laws of pegasi magic. If Cloudsdale is made of cloud, then Spike should not be able to stand on the street. If the street is not cloud, then it should fall through the rest of the city.

Celestia and Luna were pretty willing to let the three tribes war way back when. They were arguing, preparing for war, and starving, and Celestia and Luna were just chilling. You know they were rules by that point because the flag that Chancellor Puddinghead, Princess Platinum, and Commander Hurrican plant after the Windigoes is emblazoned with images of the Regal Sisters.

Weddings must suck for Earth ponies and Pegasi.

What is their planet called?

Where exactly does Equestria end? The Crystal Empire and Griffon Kingdom are both separate, right? What constitutes as Equestria?

What threats could possibly still exist? Hasn't Twilight dealt with all of the evil? What could possibly be next?

What happened to the vamprisim inside of Fluttershy? It's not totally gone, is it? So where'd it go?

If anyone has any answers to these random questions, I'd love to hear em.

The answers to most of them are "damned if we know". I'll try for more specific (but usually headcanon) answers to any I can, though.

Using the word "everypony" doesn't actually make any sense. Human's(sic) aren't the only things with bodies, so there's no reason for ponies to use the term "everypony". Plus, we don't say "everyperson" or "everyhuman".

Clearly, well-ingrained speciesism :rainbowwild:
(I read something that suggested that the whole non-hoof-accessible doorknobs thing was due to minotaur cultural influence. Maybe verbal culture felt it had to really push back?)

If their large unit of time is "moon", then Equestrian calendars must be super weird.

Fun fact (that you might already know): Our calendar months were conceived based on lunar cycles. It didn't work, because lunar cycles didn't match up to years. Of course, Princess Luna could fix that.

Either bits are super worthless as currency or Equestrians are just douchebags with insane mark-up on sold goods. 2 bits for a tomato seems absurd, considering they're apparently made of gold.

Someone else's headcanon, and possibly mine too: Gold is non-precious in Equestria. It stands to reason that the rarity balance is off, given that gems are apparently nearly as common as dirt there. (Also, we mint coins out of non-precious metals these days. If gold is non-precious there...)

Celestia and Luna were pretty willing to let the three tribes war way back when. They were arguing, preparing for war, and starving, and Celestia and Luna were just chilling. You know they were rules(sic) by that point because the flag that Chancellor Puddinghead, Princess Platinum, and Commander Hurrican(sic) plant after the Windigoes is emblazoned with images of the Regal Sisters.

I've heard it suggested that the flag used there was the modern one. The play just took artistic license. After all, only the most seasoned archeologist/equuologist/protosociologist would know and care about the differing flag. Anyway, if you assume that, it's not much of a stretch to assume that the events therein took place Ante Sorores Regna.

3769608 Fair points on all accounts, particularly the bits thing. I never even considered that.

We've never seen them do any crazy math that explicitly suggests it's base 10 (that I'm aware of at least), and numbers may have translated from other species.

They say 'pony' we're we might say 'one' and I think I've heard "anyzebra" (or something like that) so it could just be open to the sentience of other animals.

There's a lunar calendar. It's what Chinese New Year is based off, and it works well enough for reasons I can't tell you.

I agree with the previous comment's take on currency worth. Plus, we also consider precious metals precious because of other non-rarity properties like electrical conductivity, and they don't seem to do as much with electricity as we do. Maybe silver coins are like silver dollars for us - we don't use 'em as much 'cause they're less useful.

When did Spike walk in Cloudsdale? When Rarity had wings in Sonic Rainboom, she could walk on the clouds even though she wasn't hit with the cloudwalking spell - so I assume it's because she had wings. By that same logic, maybe Spike could walk on clouds because he will one day be able to fly and he currently has undeveloped (not grown in yet) wings since it seems all the other dragons can fly.
Oh and they have stuff that isn't cloud and will fall when not supported by clouds (example: jackhammer).

Celestia and Luna probably had other things to deal with in a blossoming new nation, like King Sombra.

Why would weddings suck more for Earth ponies and Pegasi than any other combination? Most Unicorn probably wouldn't be matched any better with Pegasi since I doubt cloudwalking is an objectively easy spell.

No clue what their planet is called. Equestria might include the Crystal Empire technically because CE may have disappeared and later had its lands taken. The Griffon Kingdom seems separate enough if Princess Twilight hasn't visited it, and it is inhabited by another species.

Threats possible? Probably anything in a world of magic. That's like saying "Hitler and Saddam are gone, what other power hungry asshole can happen next?"

Vampirism in Fluttershy is probably going to exist forever. She probably represses it, or eats more apples than ever before.

3769730 The reason I ask about the moon thing is because Larson had confirmed that there is no Earth equivalent. They basically made it up, so it wouldn't work like a human calendar.

Spike stands someplace I'm Cloudsdale during the season five finale. I also have a problem with the jackhammer, because it is my understanding that pegasi can only stand on clouds because of their magic.

As for weddings, that's simple; Where would you put the ring, unless they have bands for the hoof. Even still, that's inferior to a unicorn wedding, in my eyes

3769988 Then I guess their calendar has its own set of rules completely independent of anything we might know ^__^

Fair enough, I'm just being generous in saying it's their winged-ness that lets them walk on clouds because griffons also cloudwalk but we've never been told they have or practice any magic.

Ah that's what you were referring to for weddings. Maybe they don't do rings (or whatever) at all and it's just a unicorn tradition. People get married without rings, and while I'm not well-versed in other ceremonies I'm sure some don't include rings or any such crap thing. Honestly, I don't know much I like the ring thing for unicorns, even if it is a tradition it doesn't seem to hold any lasting significance because they don't keep them on after the wedding. Shining and Cadance didn't even keep them on during the party later that same day...
