Every Page a Painting - Walls of Words

Yup, hello, it's me, back on my typesetting binge again, with another "Every Page a Painting" to show you. And boy oh boy, do I have a real treat for you this time around: one of my favorite novels on this site, one that hasn't been typeset before. . . well, until now, of course.

Every Page a Painting - By Any Other Name

First of March, it's clear to me
    There's something that's uncomforting. . .

Here I am again, about a fortnight after the first "Every Page a Painting", locked and loaded with a second one, whether you wanted it or not. Enjoy.

Every Page a Painting - Click, Clack, Neigh

I know, I know, it's quite bold of me to publish this on Valentine's Day of all days, but here it is all the same.

If you don't like the timing, just come back tomorrow. I'll wait.

If you're still here and you don't care about when you'd get this, all I can say is buckle up.

(Disclaimer: everything you see here is work in progress and subject to change.)

Ah yes, my hundredth blogpost on Fimfiction.

I know I should try to find one single topic to spend it on, but I've got several going through my head and only one milestone to do it in, so. . . what the hell, I'll just talk about all of them.

Buckle up; this is a certified Anthology Blogpost.™

International Mother Language Day 2016 - Rain · 5:20am Feb 21st, 2016

(Preëmptive blog post is preëmptive.)

Hello, and happy International Mother Language Day! Just like last year's project, "This Way, Nay That Way", this story is intended to be translated into as many languages as possible. Unlike last year's project, however, this one is longer, pony-related (so it's eligible for publication here on Fimfiction)-- and it's open to the whole brony community, not just Fimfiction users.

The story itself, in its original English, uses all 100 words on the Leipzig–Jakarta list. This is meant to encourage translators to use as many terms native to his/her language as possible. It is also divided along the golden ratio (with the Prologue smaller than the Narrative), and uses all 26 letters of the English alphabet in the Prologue. By no means are the translators obligated to follow these pattern, however; but if the translator can make them work, then those are encouraged.

I have established a form on Google Docs, in which one will fill out to submit a translation. I only require the following four things:

1. Your username (so I know who to credit).
2. A link to an account where you are most likely to respond to any inquiries.
3. The name of your language (in English, please!)
4. Your translation.

However, to make this project as orderly as possible, I have established but a handful of rules to follow. They are as follows:

1. No redundant translations. Translations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis-- e.g. if two people submit a Turkish translation, I will accept the first one and reject the second.
1a. If there are dramatically divergent dialects in a language (e.g. Parisian and Canadian French, Castilian and Latin American Spanish, Lusitanian and Brazilian Portuguese), I will accept one of either dialect. However, if the language in question is relatively stable (e.g. spelling differences between American and Commonwealth English), then your translation will be rejected.
1b. If your language is written natively in more than one script (e.g. Cyrillic and Latin for Serbian, Latin and pIqaD for Klingon), I will accept one of either script. However, if your language uses only one script (i.e. Japanese Rōmaji does not count as a native script), your translation will be rejected.
2. Submit translations to me via the online form only; do not submit it to me via PM or the comments section of this blog or the story. It will result in dramatically long comments, and it would give an advantage to Fimfiction users-- something that I do not want. I will ignore any PMs and comments in violation, and may delete comments in violation.

Got them? Good.

I'm sorry I have to be a bit harsh, but I do want to make sure everyone from the community feels welcome to partake in this project-- hence the second rule.

So, without further ado, here are some useful links:
"Rain" (Cancelled)
Submission Form (Cancelled)
Leipzig–Jakarta list (English only)

The story won't be published until tomorrow; the form won't be turned on until tomorrow. Be patient.

UPDATE: The whole thing's cancelled. Never mind.

Good night, and good luck.

Dibs on Esperanto and Albanian, by the way. Possibly Kēlen and/or Lojban if I can be bothered.
