Swirling Blade

I used to edit a fic called Wandering Moon in 2014. Then in 2016, I decided to actually give writing my own fic a chance.

May or May Not Write More Often

So, I have to admit that my motivation for uni has been waning recently, and so I may or may not write more often for The Bright Equestrian Moon while I'm slacking off. At least it's something productive, rather than playing web games or reading other fics.

    Just Wrote a Bunch

Hi there, everyone. I know it's been ages again, but I've been really busy with university. Anyway, I recently looked through a bunch of my favourites and saw quite a few stories that haven't been updated for ages, and might not ever be updated. That feeling sucked, although I don't blame the authors for being busy with whatever life throws at them. However, it made me think of anybody who might

    Next Chapter Will be Soonish

I have been working on the next chapter for The Bright Equestrian Moon, but progress has been slow due to starting to work towards a Cert IV at a university. I've been both busy and drained from university, but have been working on the next chapter in some of my spare time. Maybe it'll be done by middle or end of this week.

It's Been Ages and I've had a Realisation (Update and Rambling)

Hi there, I know that it's been ages since the last chapter of The Bright Equestrian Moon. Once again, I'm sorry that I haven't been consistent in updates and that I often go on hiatus without warning. It must be really frustrating as a reader who has kept up with the story so far. I've realised that my writing tends to come in waves as I get inspired by something to continue, then I

Wise Realisation and Your Thoughts · 10:48pm Feb 17th, 2016

I have just had a realisation of why I had a longer break than planned, and possibly why I got writer's block. I believe that it may be because lately I've been feeling obligated to try to publish chapters often, even though I have no set release schedule. When I started, it was because I was simply enjoying the writing itself, this isn't to say I've lost interest in it. I am rather passionate about the plans for The Bright Equestrian Moon, and thinking about where it will eventually go excites me quite a bit. The solution I believe is to become more laid back with this whole fic and not see it as any form of duty or obligation.

However, just me putting up this blog post isn't just for the sake of keeping you guys updated. I'd like to know your thoughts on the matter, be honest. Do you think I should be obligated to update regularly? Or should I try to relax on this whole thing?

There is no point to regularly updating if you feel obligated to doing it because it won't be your best work. That said, it won't do if you update so rarely that your readers lose interest so try to find a balance
