Well, people tend to think art=visual stuff, but literature is certainly art and one could argue that video games should be considered art (and there is a huge debate on this).
Now, the reason I'm even replying to you is that you're kind of implying his emotional response is pointless because "it's just a game." A video game that invokes emotions is successful in the storytelling department (or so bad it makes you rage. League of Legends is certainly one of those!). Now, would you ever tell someone "it's just a story" if they were to post about how their emotional heartstrings were tugged in the comments section of one of this site's many stories?
