Happy 2016, everybody!

What have I learnt in 2015?

I've written a lot of stories I'm pretty proud of this year. Six of them have even been featured! But the stories I'm proudest of are the ones I've written as gifts for people. I do sometimes get pretty bad writer's block, but thinking about one person, and writing the story they might want to read really helps me focus. And having a deadline like a birthday or Christmas or something is pretty helpful too. So I'm going to keep doing this. If I missed out on you in 2015 for whatever reason, I'm not saying you should expect me to write you a story but it might happen.

I think I've gotten better at writing erotica. I don't like to characterize myself as primarily a clop author: I've written some, but only about a third of my stories on this site are this genre. But it may surprise some of my followers to know that I've been writing erotic fiction since I was… ummm… preteen (embarrassed face!). However, with one exception (published on another website which no, I will not share with you no matter how much you beg), I've not really shown it to anybody before I started publishing on fimfiction. I think having a platform to publish it is really helpful. And I'm going to keep writing this genre.

The overlap between clop-stories and gift-stories is small. There are not many people I'd feel comfortable writing clop for as a gift. There are some though. Usually when that happens, I don't mention who it's a gift for in the description. But they know. (Me chuckles.)

I've discovered I have a talent for editing. I've edited more stories than I've written (including some not on that bookshelf because I prefer to keep my involvement in them anonymous) and I'll no doubt keep doing that. I don't really want to take on any more people I edit for though — I prefer to just stick to editing things for friends now.

In late 2014 and early 2015, I tried a lot of roleplaying on various websites (various genres, including adventure, slice of life, romance, erotic) and discovered something: I don't like roleplaying.

But then in April 2015, somebody who I'd just met through this site suggested a slice of life Equestria Girls roleplay. I cautiously agreed. (I was Trixie.) And it was really fun. So I discovered something else: I do like roleplaying, if it's with the right person. I have since discovered a handful of other people who are fun to roleplay with, but she's still my main roleplay partner.

(Before people point out that roleplay is against fimfiction's rules, I'm not talking about roleplay on this site. I'm taking about people I've met on this site, but roleplayed with elsewhere.)

I've also discovered that roleplay can be a fun way to get ideas for a story. And I've even written a few stories which feature roleplay of one kind or another in the storyline.

And I discovered I have a sister I never knew about before. Okay, so we're not sisters in the biological sense, nor in any way that would be legally recognized, but Infinity Shade has been a great friend to me, and I couldn't possibly write this blog post without mentioning her. If I were someone who believed in re-incarnation, I'd suspect she was my sister in a past life.

What else have I discovered in 2015? Meh, probably quite a lot, but not much else which is on-topic for this blog.

So enough looking back… looking forward to 2016 now.

I really hope to stay friends with my fimfiction friends this year. I know it's easy for online friendships to come and go much faster than friendships with people you see physically, but there are a handful of you who I really care about, and hope we remain friends for many years to come.

I want to keep writing new stories. And I want to complete my two multi-chapter fics which have been stalled for a while — Lyra x Lyra and The Ballad of Falabella Mulan. Though the latter hasn't proved popular in terms of views, I really like this story, and I know that the RP partner I mentioned really likes it, and sis does too. So that will keep me motivated to complete it, I hope.

In about another week, I'll publish a list of what new stories you can expect from me.

I'm not very good at drawing, but I have a DeviantArt account and in 2016, it would be nice if I could try to improve my skills in this area.

Also, in 2016, I'd like to…

Idek.

I learned that I thought I was Applejack but in reality I'm Berry Punch. Che*hic*ers!

What have I learned in 2015? These:
1. People are assholes.
2. SJW's are idiots. (looking at Dead or Alive Extreme 3)
3. Women are superficial, no offence.
4. I hate my insecurity.

Too dark?

Can't comment on your blog, but I just needed to say, I'm going to miss you, and I'll never forget being your sister, even if it only lasted a few months.

I hope you have a happy life.
