Just your average british lad. I write things for a living. It’s the strangest living you’ll ever find, second only to my inability to take myself off of the grid.

Been watching Friendship Games in Japanese · 1:52pm Jan 1st, 2016

And let me tell you some noticeable differences that I discovered.

– The songs have no official japanese dubbing yet, so they still play in English. However, when Cinch say "Incorrect" at the end of Acadeca, it comes up in Japanese. Likewise, Luna and Cadence speak Japanese during Unleash the Magic.

– Indigo Zap is way off in this version as opposed to her Engish counterpart, but Lemon Zest is far better and much more energetic-sounding.

– Sour Sweet sounds like she has two VAs. And I'm being legit serious here. In English, it was just Sharon Alexander, yet I get the sneaking suspicion that she was done by two people in Japanese, as their voices are complete polar opposites.

– Spike sounds weird in this dub. He doesn't even try to sound like a dog during his introduction.

– Crystal Prep sounds a lot like Crystal Goku in this version.

– Most of the characters grunt, groan, or just mumble like they really mean it this time around, much like Adagio did when she gave Sonata that silence command in Rainbow Rocks when she said singing was how the Dazzlings controlled people.

– Twilight really sounds like she's panicking in the first scene she and Spike share together where he can talk.

But yes. That's all the changes that can be found in the Japanese Dub over on DailyMotion. I really enjoyed it, and I think you should to.

I'm still waiting for someone to turn the songs into Japanese versions, though. I'd especially love to hear Unleash the Magic in Japanese, as well as a lot of other Equestria Girls songs.
