Merry Chrismas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New year fellow reader! I certainly hope your holidays were restful and relaxing!

Significant Other and I spent the week with his family. We had quite an exciting time.

It was also quite... sobering.

Certain things, events, happened this week. Nothing to us mind you; we are still hale and whole (as much as possible with all my chronic stuff). Nevertheless, it was a cold slap of sobering reality and it really got me thinking.

Moral of the story?

Never, never pass up an opportunity to tell your family and loved ones "I love you" or ignore a chance to hug your friends.

I am sure all the older folk are sagely nodding their heads, saying "True. True. Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt.", but it is quite a beast of a different colour when you experience it first hand.
