    Original Displaced story is available

I'm back for the second, most likely actual final time. I have no idea what the state of the site is or how many of the people following me are still on the site. I even have no idea what the state of the MLP intellectual property is, how Gen 5 turned out, etc. I'm here to signal boost my third book, which, as the blog title says, is based on the Displaced subgenre here on Fimfiction, but minus

    My final farewell

All of you who regularly read my blogs knew this was coming, but I'll state it again for those of you who don't. I'm leaving the site. Now that my latest story is completed, I'm officially tapped out of horsewords. Not only that, but my passion for FiM is pretty much dried up, so I don't have any real reason to keep hanging around here. Yet, at least, but I'll get back to that down below. I'll

    Leaving the site

I know I don't often give updates like this in my blogs, but as you can see, this is too significant not to share with all of you. I'm of the opinion that having a following of people, no matter its size, requires you to keep them informed when you make big decisions like this.

Indeed, this lizardman will be leaving Fimfiction.

I just got back from watching Krampus. · 1:58am Dec 27th, 2015

No spoilers to be found here, but here's something you should know if you decide to watch it.

Don't believe the marketing for this movie. Krampus is not a straight up horror movie. Really, it's more akin to Evil Dead 2 than The Exorcist; it's heavier on black comedy than legitimate terror and atmosphere. Very Tim Burton-esque, actually, especially in the middle. But all the same, the writing is good, the cinematography is superb, and the creature designs are very creative and inspired.

Also, the ending.

Eat your heart out, Shyamalan.

Good to hear, because the marketing for this movie has been one of the worst things I've ever seen, and my friends told me those commercials were misrepresenting the movie.

3645135 The marketing for Bridge to Terabithia was the worst, but this is probably a close second.

The premise of the movie was bad. "if you loose your Christmas spirit, everyone around you will go to hell..." The story of the the grandmother was horrible when she recounted her experience with Krumpus, she's a little girl during WW2 & she loses her Xmas spirit because of the war. Krumpus comes over & takes the whole town to hell, sparing her & giving that little sphere.

What I got from the message is this. Better have Xmas spirit & you better not lose, even if you have a good reason to lose it. I'm coming over to take your loved one and threaten you to have Xmas spirit.

Stupid premise of a movie...:pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick::pinkiesick:

So... how close do they follow the lore? That is my biggest concern.

3645796 Krampus' physical appearance is pretty much lifted straight from lore. Even little things like the bells he wears on his chains is shown in the movie.

Regarding his activities in the movie, the filmmakers certainly did their research, but they also took some creative liberties that I personally think work well.

3645565 'Krampus', with an 'a'.

3645156 Dang I made a mass with my previous comment. After posting it, I didn't like it & so I edit it & move things around. Looks like I forgot to save the changes & so got re posted it all mangled up.:facehoof:

Sorry if it caused confusion...

I agree with your review, this movie reminded me of the Evil Dead series as well. Campy fun as well as horror.
