Fun Fact of the Week: 5th week of December, 2016

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the lack of a Fun Fact post last week. I fell asleep before remembering that I hadn't done one, but since the one for the 3rd week was posted at a time where both the 3rd and 4th weeks were active (it was Saturday in some parts of the world and Sunday in others), I simply changed the title of that blog and made it work for both weeks. Anyway...

Fun Fact of the Week: 3rd and/or 4th week of December, 2016

I'm sure most of you are familiar with the famous song "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot, an easily recognizable tune telling the story of a tragic event on Lake Superior on November 10th, 1975.

Fun Fact of the Week: 1st week of December, 2016

Fun Fact of the Week: In total, 14 countries share a border with Russia. They include Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania*, Poland*, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea. Out of all of them, North Korea is the only one to not share any type of physical land border (the border itself is very small) with Russia whatsoever. The two

Fun Fact of the Week: 4th week of November, 2016

Fun Fact of the Week: Today, it was announced that the brand new NHL franchise in Las Vegas will be named the Golden Knights. This will be the 31st team in the current National Hockey League roster, and (I'm assuming) it will be part of the Pacific Division, which is also the division of the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton

Has this ever happened to you? · 1:13pm Dec 22nd, 2015

Well, the weirdest thing happened to me last night while I was sleeping.

I woke up about 15 minutes ago, went on FIMFiction to check for updates, and then I felt something on my left middle finger. Turns out that I had somehow cut myself in my sleep. Just below my nail was a small cut about 8 millimeters in length. There were remnants of blood, but it had long since stopped. I've already taken care of the cut, so everything's fine.

Has this or something similar happened to any of you as you slept?

I have done something VERY embarrassing while sleepwalking before but no details for personal reasons. :derpytongue2:

A year or so ago in my sleep I saw that I was at school and then a teacher came and said that my country was at war. Then we saw a bomb coming to our direction,so everyone went to their houses to hide.Except me.I ran to the centre of my city, where our mayor was standing.
I knew I was dreaming.
I told her that I knew how to end it....I needed to wake up....I turned my head really fast(in my dreem) and I ended up hitting my head on my bed...

I mean,I know a lot of times that I'm in a dream but never how to wake up:applejackconfused:

If you didn't understand sth,I'm sorry,I tried to explain it as good as I could:twilightblush:

Conclusion:You do weird things in your sleep:rainbowderp:

Not even shittin' you, I once woke up with a black eye.

3636055 I was caught sleepwalking about 10 years ago, myself. I pretty much walked straight into a glass door, and that's when I woke up.

3636070 Don't worry, I understand. I actually have a similar story.

About three years ago, I was getting a massage, and I had slipped into a trance-like state where it feels like I'm asleep, but I'm actually not. When I'm in this state, I see things as if I'm having a dream, but since I'm not completely asleep, one or more of my limbs will react if I see something headed my way (i.e., a punch, projectile, etc.).

I don't exactly remember what happened, but whatever I saw caused me to jerk my left leg upwards (I was lying on my stomach) and I nearly kicked my masseuse square in the face. Luckily, nothing serious happened, and after I explained everything, she was simply happy that I was becoming relaxed.

Here, I'll tell you my story.
One night, apparently, I sleepwalked into the bathroom and started peeing into the trash can. My mom walks in, sees me, and says, "What are you doing?". Then I turn around, look at her WITH MY EYES CLOSED, and say, "I'm done." Then I walk back to my room and go back to bed. Yep. :facehoof:

3636337 WOW...How you managed to do that, I don't know. That's quite the story.

I once while my friend was over, he put a coke can on my neck and apparantly I managed to turn it around and set it upright on the floor in my sleep. It confuses us to this day.

3817088 I'm sure it does...
