"You're not a burden, my love" Simon comforted his partner, Prince Lucian. "You're all 7,634,420,069,142,002,387,487,862,912 stars in my sky, Luce. And I love how brightly you shine"

STARLY IS AMAZING!!!! · 7:17pm Nov 28th, 2015

Major spoilers up ahead, so... be warned.

We all knew Starlight Glimmer was stalking watching us throughout the whole seaon, right? No? Just me? OK, then. Well, anyhoof... There's something Starly didn't tell us about herself until the finale! What is it? Watch those 2 episodes (multi-parters are one episode PER part, not just one total) and find out! After you get back here, read beyond the page break (by clicking the big friendly button) for my thoughts on it. (MAJOR spoiler alert!)

Starlight Glimmer...
...was heartbroken!

Her first (and, until reformation, only) real friend, Sunburst, (character tags, plz!) had saved her life from a fallen bookcase (cliche, anyone?) and gotten his Cutie Mark for the magic he used to do it. (ANOTHER Twilight copy? :facehoof::trollestia:) This Cutie Mark, which looked like... a sun symbol, (Meaning Sunburst is Sunset's brother, perhaps? I hope Ink Rose reads this! :fangirlsquee:) is the very thing that ended the friendship between him and Starly.

After that, she never (until forming the canon-unnamed town, which I call Equalia) gave friendship another chance. Even then, her friendships were all built on a single purpose: to make sure everypony is happy and equal... Even if it meant lying and making them equal under her power.

It wasn't until even later than that, when Twiles and the gang came to (the town that I call) Equalia and helped the inhabitants get their Cutie Marks back, that Starly had a new purpose: to exact revenge upon Twiles. (I never thought I'd use my nickname for either of them when mentioning revenge!) She could only do this (starting much later than she wanted) by rewriting (and then casting) Starswirl's time travel spell. She created a loop-inducing time paradox, (though, to be fair, the paradox part of the loop, the thing that made it an actual loop in (and out of) time, was Twily's fault, because Twiles was trying to stop her) which enabled (and kinda forced) her and Twily to keep travelling back in time to a few seconds before the race started... which Starly needed to do anyway to ensure her plan would succeed.

That plan of Starly's was simple, even if only in premise: to stop Rainbow Dash from performing a Sonic Rainboom, which would result in the Mane Six never sharing the simultaneous Cutie Mark Acquisition Program Bond. Unfortunately, (and this was somehow beyond Starly's knowledge because... reasons?) Twily's friends are the same friends who saved the kingdom of Equestria from everything that attacked it. As such, them not becoming friends changes the history (or, at least, the parts of it we know) for the worst... a lot... and a lot of times. Four of these iterations of this loop have been shown in clear detail, but... the other 20 or so... not so much. As a result, Starlight was (even if unintentionally) dooming Equestria to destruction. In the end, the only way for Twilight to stop Starlight was to convince her to stop herself. She did this by telling Starlight to give friendship a chance, and... then she saw what Starlight had shown her: the reason Starly wanted equality, which was the very same thing I wrote in the first paragraph. That ended friendship made her think no difference-based friendship could be strong enough, and thus that anyone she tried to make friends with would end the same way: Cutie Mark... ACQUISITION PROGRAM!!!! (Sweetie Bot is best robot!)

I'm thinking I can use this... newly found canon writing (That of the two collective scripts for this season finale.) as a basis for continuation of my story, Starlight Sorrow, which, if you haven't read... you should, because reading is fun, and fun is good. But... enough shameless self-promotion here! What are your thoughts on these episodes? Similar to mine? Or... something COMPLETELY different? Please tell me! And... whatever you do, DON'T...
