I've been poking around, making sure I'm not copying anyone (unless there's not much choice, like if I'm incorporating a backstory that needs to be outlined).
Sixty seven or so words per minute, late at night when I should probably be sleeping, results in creativity flowing onto the page and then two hours of painful lag while spell checking and not entirely proofreading. In two nights, I've written almost ten thousand words. And yet I haven't submitted it yet 'cause I have no idea how anyone will react.
I had to copy over some things in order to make the story stand-alone, and since it's a recursive work I don't exactly consider it the dreaded P-word. I consider it a promotion, an encouragement to check out the original work; I don't claim that what I've copied and rephrased are my own words. That would be silly.
And yet here I am. Making a blog post to hint towards a story in progress that I haven't even tried to hit the Submit button on. I'm an idea guy more than a 'getting those ideas out there' guy.
...I guess this is me asking for a bit of help or encouragement? I dunno.
