Sheriff Shimmer · 2:47am Nov 9th, 2015
While reading The Freeport Venture by Chengar Qordath, I had a bit of an idea. There's a story that I started reading when it was being written called Trixie, Appleloosa Sheriff. Unforunately, it has not been worked on in years. While marked as incomplete, I'm pretty sure it's safe to assume that is essentially cancelled. I have considered trying to write something similar for a while now. It would not be the same story since I have a different style than the original author and could not take it in the same direction since I don't know what said other had in mind.
But now the two of stories have kind of given me a bit of an idea that admittedly would have similarities to both, but not be the same. However, I would like to get some sense of what others think of the idea.
Sheriff Shimmer/Sunset Sheriff (Alternate Universe, but I'm not sure of the other tags yet): After her defeat at the end of the first movie, Sunset Shimmer returns to Equestria, choosing to face Princess Celestia and accept the punishment for her actions. After some deliberation and council, the princess decides that Sunset shall perform community service by becoming the new sheriff of Appleloosa. While there, she has to deal with maintaining the peace, protecting the innocent, bringing criminals to justice, and the heat. Can she handle the stress of being a law enforcement officer, or will it all be too much for the former student and villain?
It's a bit of a general idea right now, and still a ways off if I ever do actually decide to write it, but I would like to get some idea of what people think about it.
This idea sounds amazing. But I don't have any ideas as to what I would like to see outside basic enthusiasm.. There needs to be more good Sunset Shimmer stories and I love redemption stories such as this where a former villain might slip into anti hero tendencies. Sounds like a really great idea here
