Ps3, think it might be my crappy internet. Still can't post replies, but apparently I can post blogs. This is a new level of stupid BS.

It mite be your DNS, router or port on your computer have you downloaded anything prier to this problem?

There are a couple of tests you could try to 'refresh' the connection, so to speak. The tests vary depending on your console having a wired or wireless connection.

1. Try unplugging the router, and leave it unplugged for roughly ten seconds. After the time frame plug it back in and try reconnecting to the Wi-Fi access.

2. Remove the wireless SSID from your system directly. This can be done through the settings in the console. Once that is complete, re-enter the wireless access point manually through the system. While this shouldn't make a difference, it doesn't hurt to try. Sometimes packets can get backlogged and lag a device.

3. I am unaware of the PS3's physical ports, but I would think a newer generation console (yes, PS3 can still be considered New Gen by Tech means) would have an Ethernet port. If you are running your PS3 via wireless connection, try using Ethernet instead if you are close enough to a router that you can connect the two devices. Ethernet allows a greater bandwidth, much more so then 802.11n Wi-Fi will ever allow.

4. Again, I'm unaware of the console's capabilities, but it's possible that you accidentally changed the internet settings when surfing the web. It's possible you disabled something that no longer allows you to write smaller messages. While I doubt this is the case, I would still double check that something isn't turned on or off that could be interfering with this.

5. Have you tried turning the system itself off and on? Sometimes devices can lock in a certain mode. This usually happens when a small hiccup occurs with the programming. This hiccup can remain until the device, and the program in question, is restarted.

Hope any of this helps, and if it doesn't release another blog explaining what problems you are encountering exactly. I'll try to help troubleshoot for you in any way possible, but it'll be difficult for me since I won't be there and I'm unfamiliar with the workings of Sony Systems.

3517525 First off, there is no such thing as a DNS router. It's simply known as DNS and it's a server function, not a router, that distributes IP's to devices on the network. Also, he's using a console, so he's unable to directly influence his IP unless it's done through the router itself.

3517525 Forgot to put coma . Wrote that post on my lunch brake. I do agree with your diagnosis on the problem that could be causing this. At the time I did not have the time to write all of what I wanted to say. That why I sent Flutters Is Shy my email so it will be easier to go threw the problem and fix it.
