Hello, everyone! Look at this, a story update at a decent hour. Yes, I'm trying to be awake at the hours that 'normal' people usually are. Strange, I know.
Anyway, today is story update day. It should be up by the time you read this; if you're reading this immediately after it's posted, then the story will be up within the hour. I apologize for the delay since the last release, but hey, you guys know me by now. If a chapter isn't getting released once a week, it's probably because I just haven't had as much time to work on it as I'd like. But no point focusing on the negative, let's focus on the positive. And the positive is that chapter nineteen is out! Woohoo!
A few days ago, I asked you all to come up with names for Rarity's parents, since they have no canon names, and fan names are both conflicting and kinda lame, or don't fit with the show (like Fran and Magnum). Quite a few of you answered, but in the end, it was McNutty who ended up with the item-winning names: Courtesy and Gridiron. There were a few names you all suggested that I really liked, but ultimately I felt that McNutty's names that truly fit the feel of the pony world the best, as well as the story.
For his contribution to the story, Senor McNutty received a Merc's Pride Scarf in TF2, an item with a going rate of 3 keys. That's a pretty good item! It now adorns his classy Spy (though not as classy as mine, cough cough.)
I'M JUST SAYIN'. Rockin' a matching set of Col Roule, Charmer's Chapeau, and Spats (though you can't see 'em). Yes, my spy's gear is the same color as Rarity's mane. SHUT UP I'M NOT OBSESSED. Also, my ambassador skin has been replaced by a dramatic Fluttershy. Shipping, even in TF2. You know you want it.
Anyway, yeah, McNutty got a nice scarf for his spy and/or whatever class now. I tried to find a pic of your spy wearing it, Nutty, but apparently I forgot to get a screenshot of you. Sorry!
I plan to do more of these item giveaways in the future, so don't feel bad if you didn't win! You guys are awesome readers, so if I can give back with a nice TF2 item here or there, or a Steam game or something, I'll gladly do so. Any future plans will be announced here, of course.
So, chapter nineteen is up. It's shorter than I usually write, at just over 9k words (I SWEAR TO GOD IF ANYONE MAKES AN OVER NINE THOUSAND JOKE), but 'short' is relative in my case. Mostly this chapter is to set up some future events. I plan on kicking the plot into overdrive very soon. Here's hoping it works!
