The Pyropath

Help, I have too many ideas and I don't have the will to make them a reality. Every day of my life is agony.

Regarding the End of an Era

Everyone seems to be making blogs about FiM ending and what it could mean for the fandom, and for good reason. Will the fandom be able to survive now that its main wellspring for content is finished? I'm going to cheat a bit by reposting what I said on a friend's blog post, as it's what I believe:

    Finishing Touches

I've done a decent amount of work today, and have finally made a decision on where the narrative will head for this first book. I'm thinking I'm going to send the story in later today. I just hope that things will work out with my formatting...

    Making Changes

Pyro here...well, Imagineer now. I changed my username into the title of the career I wish to pursue. Here's hoping things will work out, and I'll fulfill this goal of mine. I guess it has always been a bit of a dream of mine to work with Disney...

    It's Finally Happening

I'm proud to announce that the story I've been holding on to has finally seen a great deal of attention. I'm still missing a picture for the title, but at least I'm making steadfast progress. I've yet to decide when I will actually post the prologue, as I'm beating myself up on whether I should make sure to have at least one chapter ahead in case something comes up and I am unable to write, or if

    Finally, some progress...

I found the flash drive containing my old files...kinda breaks my heart a bit, remembering those times. Anyways, this means I'm going to have a much, much easier time rewriting and restructuring The Pyropath. It will definitely have a tie-in with the World of Illogic, but I'm definitely going to be taking this story in a bit of a serious direction. I haven't read up on more of the other

It's Finally Happening · 1:09pm Oct 26th, 2015

I'm proud to announce that the story I've been holding on to has finally seen a great deal of attention. I'm still missing a picture for the title, but at least I'm making steadfast progress. I've yet to decide when I will actually post the prologue, as I'm beating myself up on whether I should make sure to have at least one chapter ahead in case something comes up and I am unable to write, or if I should give myself a deadline for each chapter. I'm thinking of going with the former, so I need to start the first official chapter as soon as possible. However, what I had back then was...amateur. :facehoof: The things I've done to the prologue as it is have increased the word count from its pitiful 3k into nearly 10k, and I'm not even completely finished. I've been pretty much researching for a few months, and actually took to editing my old dossiers about a week ago, and started my new draft on Thursday, working for the following two days and into like 5AM for Sunday. I'm hoping to be done by tomorrow so I can get started on Chapter 1. If I can actually make decent progress to ease my mind, I'll officially send in my story and the prologue with it on either October 30, Friday, or November 1, Sunday. I'm going to attempt to update at least every three weeks, two if I'm making good progress, a month if I'm really wishing to stretch things out. :twilightsheepish:

I'm definitely thankful that I've waited. The story will be starting around when the Hearth's Warming Eve episode took place. In other words, before the Royal Wedding of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Captain Shining Armor, also known as the Changeling Invasion of Canterlot, or When Equestrian Leadership Really Fucked Up, and Possibly Giving An Excuse For Genocide. That's a lot of titles! :pinkiecrazy: Anyways, the show's pace so far has given me about a year to work with, since Chapter 1 skips over to right after Chrysalis' attempted coup (Can I call it that? She's trying to usurp the throne in a way...). I estimate that the Season 5 Finale will take place anywhere in between Heart's and Hooves Day and the anniversary of the wedding, so...I've got a lot of time to work with, and I'm going to go at a steady pace, that way I won't end up going past the main plot of Friendship is Magic, and so I can take advantage of any new information future episodes give. I mean, look at last Saturday's episode, Hearthbreakers. Anybody who came up with the unoriginal names like Blinkamena for Pinkie's other two sisters are completely ruined (though I think their names might have been revealed in one of GM Berrow's books a while back), and works involving Limestone and Marble as well as Ignacious and Cloudy from before the episode most likely have guessed their personalities wrong. Sometimes, it pays to wait. :ajsmug: I kinda sounded mean there, huh? I know, I know, nobody would have guessed that these kind of things would have happened, and this is fanfiction. But it kinda loses its touch when people jump at the opportunity to make these kinda things when some of the subjects will inevitably come up. For example, any works on Twilight's parents can pretty much be forgiven, they just don't seem to be interesting enough to warrant an episode dedicated to them (Watch me eat those words come next season or whenever Cadance has her foal(s)). But any works that would predict the CMC's Cutie Marks would have eventually been made obsolete. Hasbro just loves making toys out of episodes, you know. Not to mention it's such a major plot point. A lot of stories from the second example are still great, though, even if they are now pretty much Alternate Universe. That's the way out of it, by the way. Some things you can slap AU on and it will be alright, though the Crusaders actually being Crusaders kinda shoots a lot of stuff down. Anyways, enough of that. There's always the option of a reboot for some stories, after all.

Interlude: I've probably got bounty hunters on me for always making these text walls, if not for the heinous act I committed the other day by saying let it go and linking the song.

Let me think if I've got anything else...oh yes! I remember now. And yes, I do incorporate my present thoughts into these kinda things. Anyways, the most important thing is aimed towards a friend of mine, who might or might not be following me, so those who know what I'm talking about might wish to notify him if he doesn't already get pinged by my blog.

The story is no longer simply The Pyropath, and has become something much more. I'm hoping to give it sequels so that I can organize it into easy to access acts, or maybe even books if you will. Hopefully this will turn into a series, and I already have plans for spin-offs that will be implemented when the time is right. Because of this, I am essentially piggybacking Friendship is Magic in its lore and world building. It's going to be as similar as possible, but I still want to make my own sort of things. For example, I'm making the Griffons communist, akin to the story A Knight in Faded Armor. I might need to turn this into an Alternate Universe, I hope I won't need to, as the episode centered on the Griffon Kingdom showed that they are currently in anarchy, at least as from what we can tell. I'm going to be following the comics as well, since I consider them canon. There isn't exactly a good map out there right now, so if I can get the software to create my own, then I'm definitely golden. But otherwise, I'm taking liberties in what the show hasn't given us yet, but I will be keeping to the main plot as much as possible.

Now, the part about that which regards my friend. Because of how I'm now shaping this, this story will not be taking place in The World of Illogic, and The Pyropath will not be a supernatural being with the powers given to those who accept Illogic. This will be as realistic to the show and what life in Equestria's universe might actually be like. At least from my point in view, since I doubt DHX will be making any sort of moves to bring sex, gore, war, and more (heheheh, sorry, I had to) due to Friendship is Magic being a show for, you know, kids. Also, some things were never explained, like how exactly Changelings click, so I'm following some inspirations and my own hypotheses for such topics. Long story short, this is my own personal work now, as much as I can make it at least.

I'll mention this one more time. I'll be incorporating as much of the official works as I can. What I consider official is what Hasbro seems to back, which are the following series: Friendship is Magic, Equestria Girls, Friendship is Magic Comics (Everything from the main series to the villain origin stories), and GM Berrow's works, which sadly I have yet to read due to reasons (Living in near-poverty here). The last part I'm going to phase out for now, at least until I can read her novels myself. And trust me, I will someday. That woman can write! :yay:

To finish off what is probably my longest blog, and I've had some contenders, I'm also going to try my hand at making stories on the side that can range from simple one-shots to exercise my writing ability (might start taking part in those write-offs) to maybe even another series on the side. After all, there are some ideas out there that have either been abandoned, haven't been done properly, or have yet to be pursued. One such thing I'd love to do, for example, is make my own Assassin's Creed story/series. I've only seen a couple good ones, and I'd love to give it a shot, especially from a Templar's perspective. Hey, I loved the Hell outta AC Rogue, alright? I'm hoping we get more stuff exploring things like Shay Cormac's betrayal and legacy as a Templar Agent.

I hope that the few who read this have a great day/night, and thank you for taking the time to go through this. If I ever am actually pursued for making these walls of text, I'd probably get the punishment equivalent of saying Fuck You to the Geneva Convention...

I read this whole thing and I feel very angry at the walls of text, I'll have you know.
There's not much I can think to say to this, you've got a plan(s), go for it.

3497921 The walls of text offer their sincerest apologies, and invite you to smoke their ceremonial pipe with them to make it up to you.

3499298 Nah, i just got offered one of those. I'm good.

So it's a slice of life now.
