Once again, I'm reminded of why it takes so long for me to finish any work and why it's so difficult for me to declare any of my work "complete."
If university has taught me anything, it's that good work takes time. Good work takes effort. Most significantly, good work takes time. There's no such thing as a rush job. Even on my 8 hour writing binges, I'm not going to churn out anything of particular value on the first pass.
"Bittersweet" has followed this process to a tee. It's only been 3 days since Cherry and I declared the storyline concluded. These past 3 days have been filled with frantic edits, entirely new swaths of dialogue crafted, and revisions and cuts like a bad slasher flick. I'm currently on my third revision and I have a feeling this process isn't going to end for a while longer; even more so because I'll have to confer with Cherry, who is in a different time zone.
That said, the piece has come a long way since we first started. For now it will remain unsubmitted so that those close to us willing to lend a critical eye can do so before we cast it out to the whims of FiMFiction, Equestria Daily, and the rest of the internet. It'll get submitted when I decide it's good enough or I get tired of delaying the official release, whichever comes first.
Shtop! Slow down, you can't rush creative writing. Take the Dutch, they brew the words slowly for a ritcher philosphical taste .
Fimfiction; We only let you read it, when it’s ready.
