I have had the pleasure, indescribable, of having Rainbow Dash on my sister's EBC-TV program. She demonstrates the purest vocal talent and performance capability -- meaning whenever she starts singing, it's all over the place. She knows how to keep her mares happy as well as how to give a satisfying listening experience, especially for the stallions, whom this, as usual, addresses. It's not just her voice that protects beauty, it's her way of telling the stallions, "I'm here. You're here. That we love each other is what matters." And so we come across 12 tracks, some of which may be new to you. As shows through her, Rainbow Dash has brimmed with class as well, as some of the songs are beautifully romantic without coming across as tunes about nighttime rituals. There are a few that were actually penned by me - Rainbow Dash specifically appointed me for the purpose of writing for her on this record. This album is her reward.

1. WHAT AM I? WHAT ARE YOU -S. Belle-

What am I?
What are you?
There can't be anyone but us two

If I may
I love you
I need no one but you.

The summer day when we met
Was such a wonderful day
The happiness, the tenderness
Always came my way

You and I were meant to share
this love of ours together
And now I see it comes down to this:
Do you want it forever?

What am I?
What are you?
There can't be anyone but us two

If I may
I love you
I need no one but you.

Do I get lonely at
the fact that I love you?
Do you see the love in my eyes?
Do you know who loves you?

Are you there, and do you love me?
Where are you without me?
I don't even know right now...
Boy, why can't you see?

What am I?
What are you?
There can't be anyone but us two

If I may
I love you
I need no one but you.

If I may
I love you
I need no one but you!~

2. WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES -J. South-

If I could be you
And you could be me
For just one hour
If we could find a way
To get inside
Each other's mind

If you could see you
Through your eyes
Instead of your ego
I believe you'd be
Surprised to see
That you'd been blind!

Walk a mile in my shoes!
Walk a mile in my shoes!
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Walk a mile in my shoes

Now your whole world
You see around you
Is just a reflection
And the law of karma
Says you're gonna reap
Just what you sow, yes you will

So unless
You've lived a life of
Total perfection
You'd better be careful
Of every stone
That you should throw

And yet we spend the day
Throwing stones
At one another
'Cause I don't think
Or wear my hair
The same way you do

Well I may be
Common people
But I'm your brother
And when you strike out
And try to hurt me
It's a-hurtin' you, lord have mercy

Walk a mile in my shoes
Walk a mile in my shoes
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Walk a mile in my shoes

There are people
On reservations
And out in the ghettos
And brother there
But for the grace of God
Go you and I!

If I only
Had the wings
Of a little angel
Don't you know I'd fly
To the top of the mountain
And then I'd cry

Walk a mile in my shoes
Walk a mile in my shoes
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Just walk a mile in my shoes

Walk a mile in my shoes
Walk a mile in my shoes
Before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Walk a mile in my shoes

Walk a mile in my shoes!

3. THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE -E. MacColl-

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars
Were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the endless skies, my love

The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my hands
Like the trembling heart
Of a captive bird
That was there at my command, my love

The first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy
Would fill the earth
And last 'til the end of time, my love

The first time ever I saw your face.~

4. WHEN I WALK WITH YOU -S. Belle-

When I walk with you
I get a sense of joy
I get a sense of pleasure
I get to know you aren't just my toy
When I find that you love me too
It makes me happy just to love you

I just took a walk with you
just to know you're mine
I just want you to know
that you are fine

To you, I just want to say
You're my darling
If you really want to know
The words I'm saying...

Well!
When I walk with you
I get a sense of joy
I get a sense of pleasure
I get to know you aren't just my toy
When I find that you love me too
It makes me happy just to love you

And when I look
in your eyes, I see
Love and joy
and pride for me

Nobody knows the love
that you and I possess
We have the kind of love
that no one can repress

You see,
When I walk with you
I get a sense of joy
I get a sense of pleasure
I get to know you aren't just my toy
When I find that you love me too
It makes me happy just to love you.

All together now!

When I walk with you
I get a sense of joy
I get a sense of pleasure
I get to know you aren't just my toy
When I find that you love me too
It makes me happy just to love you

It makes me happy just to love you!~

5. OH! DARLING -J. Lennon - P. McCartney-

Oh! Darling, please believe me
I'll never do you no harm
Believe me when I tell you
I'll never do you no harm

Oh! Darling, if you leave me
I'll never make it alone
Believe me when I beg you
Don't ever leave me alone

Don't you know that

When you told me
You didn't need me anymore
Well you know I nearly broke down and cried

When you told me
You didn't need me anymore
Well you know I nearly broke down and died

Oh! Darling, if you leave me
I'll never make it alone
Believe me when I tell you
I'll never do you no harm!

Oh, you gotta believe!

When you told me
You didn't need me anymore
Well you know I nearly broke down and cried

When you told me
You didn't need me anymore
Well you know I nearly broke down and died

Oh! Darling, please believe me
I'll never let you down
Believe me when I tell you
I'll never do you no harm

I'll never do you no harm! (repeated 6x as recording fades out)

6. MY WAY
-C. François - G. Thibault - J. Revaux - P. Anka-

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain

I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
But more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption

I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill my share of losing
And now, as tears subside
I find it all so amusing

To think I did all that
And may I say - not in a shy way
Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way

For what is a woman, what has she got
If not herself, then she has naught
To say the things she truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way!~

1. BIRD ON THE WIRE -L. Cohen-

Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free

Like a worm on a hook
Like a knight from some old-fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee

If I, if I have been unkind
I hope that you can just let it go by
If I, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you

For like a baby, stillborn
Like a beast with his horn
I have torn everyone who reached out for me
But I swear by this song
And by all that I have done wrong
I will make it all up to thee

I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch
He said to me, "you must not ask for so much"
And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door
She cried to me, "hey, why not ask for more?"

Oh, like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.~

2. THOSE WERE THE DAYS (DOROGOI DLINNOYU)
-B. Fomin - G. Raskin-

Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And think of all the great things we would do

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.

[Scatting]

Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days

[Scatting]

Just tonight I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days

[Scatting]

Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days.

[Scatting]

3. WHEN A LOVER CAME TO ME -S. Belle-

Oh how happy I was
When a lover came to me
I was filled with happiness
Gladness and glee

If there ever was
such a happier day
When a lover came to me
that indeed was the day

I saw your face
I ascended with grace
I had no life
You gave me life

I was alone
You brought me home
I was away
But you made me stay

Oh how happy I was
When a lover came to me
I was filled with happiness
Gladness and glee

If there ever was
such a happier day
When a lover came to me
that indeed was the day

I'm your darling
You are loving
I am a girl
I brought you into this world

I love you baby
No I don't mean maybe
I love you now
Looks like I got you somehow

Oh how happy I was
When a lover came to me
I was filled with happiness
Gladness and glee

If there ever was
such a happier day
When a lover came to me
that indeed was the day

I had a waltz
A you and I waltz
I had the pleasure
You gave me treasure

I was yours
Who could ask for more?
You were mine
Forever in time

Oh how happy I was
When a lover came to me
I was filled with happiness
Gladness and glee

If there ever was
such a happier day
When a lover came to me
that indeed was the day.

4. EVERYBODY'S TALKIN' -F. Neil-
(from the United Artists production ''Midnight Cowboy'')

Everybody's talking about me
I don't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind

People stopping, staring
I can't see their faces
Only the shadows of their eyes

I'm going where the sun keeps shining
Through the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes

Banking off of the northeast winds
Sailing on a summer breeze
And skipping over the ocean like a stone

I'm going where the sun keeps shining
Through the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes

Banking off of the northeast winds
Sailing on a summer breeze
And skipping over the ocean like a stone

Everybody's talking at me
Can't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind

I won't let you leave my love behind
No, I won't let you leave my love behind
No, I won't let you leave my love behind!~

5. TO BE ALONE WITH YOU -B. Dylan-

To be alone with you
Just you and me
Now won't you tell me true
Ain't that the way it oughta be

To hold each other tight
The whole night through
Everything is always right
When I'm alone with you

To be alone with you
At the close of the day
With only you in view
While evening slips away

It only goes to show
That while life's pleasures be few
The only one I know
Is when I'm alone with you

They say that nighttime is the right time
To be with the one you love
Too many thoughts get in the way in the day
But you're always what I'm thinkin' of

I wish the night were here
Bringin' me all of your charms
When only you are near
To hold me in your arms

I'll always thank the Lord
When my working day's through
I get my sweet reward
To be alone with you

6. WHO'S GOT HIM NOW? -B. Seed - A. Bloom-

Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?

Darkness surrounds me
Covers me endlessly
Tonight I'm alone
And I plead desperately

Tonight he's gone
He's left me
Ooh, baby
Why can't you see?

Why can't you see?

Who's got him now?
It could be anyone
Who's got him now?
I'm so scared it just ain't fun
Who's got him now?
I need my baby
Who's got him now?
I need him badly

Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?

I'm crying deep down
to my bones
I'm sad right down
to the Jones

Why did he leave
Me in misery?
Is there something in him
That I just don't see?

Who's got him now?
It could be anyone
Who's got him now?
I'm so scared it just ain't fun
Who's got him now?
I need my baby
Who's got him now?
I need him badly

Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?
Who's got him now?

[color]Who's got him now?
It could be anyone
Who's got him now?
I'm so scared it just ain't fun
Who's got him now?
I need my baby
Who's got him now?
I need him so badly now

Who? Who? Who? Who?
Tell me, who's got him now? (repeat last two lines 4x as recording fades out)
